Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) is India's leading Securities Depository Services company with over 1.5 crore demat accounts through 596 Depository Participants (DPs) spread across 19,000 locations in India. CDSL was initially promoted by the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which thereafter divested its stake to State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra and Bank of Baroda. CDSL commenced operations in 1999 with the mandate to provide convenient, dependable and secure depository services at affordable cost to all market participants, CDSL is seamlessly connected with all leading stock exchanges in India like the BSE Ltd., National Stock Exchange and Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India. CDSL Subsidiaries: 1. CDSL Ventures Ltd. (CVL) – is the 1st and largest KYC Registration Agency in India with over 1.7 crore KYC records. CVL is also registered as an AUA with UIDAI to provide eKYC services, GSTN Service Provider, Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA) and depository for National Academic Depository (C-NAD). 2. CDSL Insurance Repository Ltd. (CIRL) – facilitates holding of Insurance Policies in an electronic form that enables policyholders to hold and monitor their Insurance Policies with ease. 3. CDSL Commodity Repository Ltd. (CCRL) – offers holding and transacting of Electronic Negotiable Warehouse Receipts (eNWRs) that can be pledged or transferred easily. 4. CDSL Investor Protection Fund (CDSL IPF) - organises more than 400 Investor Awareness Programs (IAPs) every year across India with it's various DPs, Exchanges, SEBI, Financial Institutions, ICSI & ICAI. After an overwhelming response to its Initial Public Offering (IPO), CDSL was successfully listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in 2017 and was included in the NSE NIFTY 500, NIFTY Smallcap 250 & NIFTY Mid-Smallcap 400 Indices in 2018.
