I bought an antique on their site. I received emails stating that the item would be shipped within a couple weeks.We waited longer than that and then emailed them several times. They then told us that the because the seller "lived in a remote area" they didn't know when they could "get a shipper to go there". (The seller lives in Idaho, not far from Pocatello, and on major local highways.) I pressed for some kind of time frame and they evaded answering. Finally we had to request a full refund as we knew they had no intention of shipping the item. (They charged our bank acct. for item, including shipping immediately upon buying and never shipped). They did not return phone calls unless threatened. We are very disappointed that we now will not get the antique item we bought and paid for (including shipping) in good faith. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SITE!

Almost $5,000 and more than two months and still waiting

I purchased a dining room table, chairs, and leaves for $3,250 and paid another $1,500 for "White glove delivery and logistics".It took Chairish more than a month to pick up the furniture. A month later, it's still sitting in the delivery company's warehouse with no delivery date scheduled. It's still half the country away from my home! I call Metropolitan, the delivery company. They tell me they're not authorized to speak with me. Chairish won't return my e-mails. I call their helpline and am told they'll investigate the situation and call me back. They never do.

Only received half an item, no refund

I ordered a Hundevad bookcase but only received the top half. Every picture showed the complete bookcase: drawers on the bottom and open shelves on the top.When I first reached out to Chairish, I was told this was a clearly misleading ad and my concerns would be forwarded to the post team who would work with me on getting my money back. They reached out almost a month later asking for photos of what I received. More than a month after that, Chairish told me "The seller confirmed that the bottom part is a credenza which is not included in the listing."
I have so many issues with that:
1. If it's not included in the listing, why is it in every photo??
2. The "bottom part" is not a "credenza" and the top half is not a bookcase on its own. TOGETHER they make a bookcase, as was sold by Poul Hundevad in the 1960s and as is being sold by every other seller on Chairish and other sites.
3. The shipper was even suspicious and asked where the rest of the item was because it wasn't as pictured on their packing slip!
I am completely unsatisfied with this experience. The listing was extremely misleading, and I feel that not only was the seller unprofessional, but Charish is culpable for this issue as well for allowing pictures of a complete bookcase when that was not what this seller was intending to deliver.
Not only that, but their customer service does not protect customers from misleading ads, takes forever to respond, and appears to just go on the word of the seller alone. Do not buy from here, because you will not be protected if something goes wrong and you could lose out on a lot of money.

Purchased item not matching description two weeks later no reply.

Purchased item. Once received it didn't match description and immediately requested to return.I sent pictures proving my claim. Called four occasions and rep said they were overwhelmed with requests and be patient. Two weeks and no contact. Tried calling today and after waiting on hold for 15 minutes my call is disconnected. The chairish buyer guarantee may or may not be honored but be prepared to wait a long time to find out.

Poor customer service and an unexpected policy

I've bought on Chairish in the past with no problems; bought an antique vase for $150 and an antique chair for $2,500.Recently I saw another antique chair that I liked and used the "make an offer" option, then realized that the height of the seat made the chair impractical for use as a desk chair. I contacted the seller, asked to cancel my offer, got no reply. I then discovered that the amount of my offer - over $800 - had been deducted from my bank account and was marked as "pending"! I went to the Chairish site, read the "fine print", and sure enough, this is what they do when you make an offer. I was used to making offers on eBay - if accepted, YOU make the payment, and YOU choose the method of payment. Not on Chairish, they use the card that you've used before and just take the money.
I sent two more messages to the seller, got no reply, finally called Chairish, and a rep canceled the offer for me and I got an email to that effect. Problem is, information on the Chairish website says that if an offer is canceled, you get an IMMEDIATE refund. It doesn't say "in three business days", it says "immediate". It's now been three days, still no refund, and when I call Chairish I get a message saying, "We're really busy right now, please leave a message and don't call back!"
I can't access my money, I can't reach the seller or Chairish. My bank said they would step in in another three days so I'll get my money back no doubt, but I'll never make an offer again on Chairish. They take your offer, add tax and shipping, then TAKE that amount from your bank account or credit card without even asking if you prefer to pay using a different method, and you can't of course reach anyone. Yes, I should have read the "fine print", but suspect that most don't. Why not state "Please see our offer policy before making an offer" when people make offers? I want my "immediate" refund, Chairish! I'll still consider buying from your sellers but will never make an offer again, and if my refund doesn't come soon I won't even BUY.

They promised 2 mirrored & 2 glass shelves for the cabinet. They sent a mismatched glass shelf thatwas useless.

I made a massive couch purchase on Chairish and once it was finally delivered and I realized that it was literally covered in stains and the smell AWFUL,not at all as pictured or described. I have attempted reaching chairish customer service by phone and email multiple times daily since receiving (today is day 6) I’ve left countless voicemails and haven’t gotten a single call or email back. This takes the cake for the absolute worst online purchase experience I’ve ever had in my life. So if you’re looking at dropping serious cash, I would highly recommend staying away from this company and going with a company like therealreal or 1stdibs who’s customer service is outstanding.

Reading other reviews of Chairish made me nervous *after* I had made an offer on a item.I wanted to come back and leave a review because my entire experience with Chairish was positive. I suppose one's customer service experience depends much on the seller. My initial offer was rejected and my credit card charge was handled exactly as they said it would be. I accepted the counter offer after considering it for about a week or so. The shipping charges for my item were very high, but under the circumstances I don't think I could have arranged shipping by myself for less cost. The seller in my case was a small non-profit without the resources to package up and arrange shipping on their own, and in the end I was happy to support them while acquiring a very unique item. I was lucky to find the item and I'm sure my family will enjoy it through generations. The item was delivered to me on the same evening it was shipped, days after the purchase. What I would call a courier service drove from Raleigh to Pittsburgh and delivered the item wrapped in moving blankets. The carrier allowed me as much time as I needed to inspect the item for any damages. Ultimately the item arrived exactly as described in the Chairish description. I would order from Chairish again based on my first experience - so don't read these reviews and expect the worst.
