Two mowers. Both the same problem. Blade motor simply went dead. Customer service is sorry.
Shocked at the nonexistent customer service

I bought the best mower EGO makes in April 2021 and after only 45 minutes of use, the self propulsion mechanism stopped working.I have been on hold for over one hour and 55 minutes already at the 855-346-5656 number - with no human coming on the line. Beyond disappointing, especially when you compare it to companies that offer a chat function and otherwise offer great customer service (e.g., Amazon).read more
Beyond terrible customer service

Bought my first Ego mower two years ago and have enjoyed it. Three weeks ago, the blades stopped turning.Attempted to get it serviced, but couldn’t find a reliable service solution. So I bought a new one. And the blades don’t engage/doesn’t mow straight out of the box. I am taking it back, and I am returning to getting my older model serviced. I have spent hours trying to reach them. I have left messages and requested call backs to no avail. Truly unbelievable service.read more
Should be 0 stars. Non-existent warranty service.

Great concept. And the mower has served us well for a bit over one season of mowing. But then the self-propulsion switch failed. (Having now read others' reviews, I realize we are by no means the only ones.)
The mower is supposed to be under warranty, but it's impossible to get warranty service when EGO pushes you to call and then doesn't answer its phone. And they don't answer online service requests, either (after a week, so far).
"We are experiencing unusually high call volume," the prerecorded message says once every 60 seconds. How gruesomely awful. Especially when you're calling from outside the US and have to pay high phone fees.
I have just called for the fourth time and sat on hold for 20 minutes . . . at the moment their website says they were opening their customer service line for the day.
But that's the FOURTH time I have called.
I have held for 40 minutes in the middle of the day on a Monday. I have held for 20+ minutes on another day and over 10 minutes on still another occasion.
I have left messages with my phone number and email address. I have left my phone number for a call-back. I have attempted to contact them via their website. . . .
It doesn't matter. It's been two weeks since the first message. They have lost my trust.
How horrendously sad!read more

I bought an Ego self-propelled lawn mower in 2019 and it lasted for a few months until the switch for the self-propel mechanism failed.I waited so long for warranty repairs to be preformed that eventually Ego contacted me and offered to replace the original mower with a new one for free. Okay fine, I accepted their generous offer.
The second mower lasted through 2020. But when I tried to use it again in late February of 2021 for the first time this season, the self-propel switch had failed again. This mower is now also awaiting warranty repairs for who knows how long.
I am currently shopping for a different brand of mower and will get rid of the Ego if and when I ever get it back. I need a mower that I can rely on and not fail every few months. Since the self-propel switch seems to be a chronic weak point with Ego mowers, I don't understand why Ego doesn't re-engineer this mechanism. In any case, I give up. Ego has lost me as a customer. What a disappointment.read more
