Today I was having a moment and I happened to sit next to a Food basic employee of fanshawe Park and Highbury. I was very upset and she calmed me down and spoke to me out of the kindness of her heart , she listened and made my day a little better. I didn't grab her name but she's a beautiful black lady with long braids .

Dealt with a Gentleman who was stocking produce and he helped me to get $40% off of a box of cookie as it was missing one cookie. He ran around just to get ,e a discount. I also dealt with Mr. Bill Balazs, the Manager of the store. He is a Gem and an excellent individual with respectful and professional behaviour. People like Bill that makes a customer to become an esteemed customer of Food Basics on Water Street in Cambridge. Thank you Bill. You will go a long way.

I love my Food Basics!
The Food Basics I go to is super easy to get to from where I live. Although groceries are very expensive, I can rest easy knowing that I've got good deals in comparison to other stores. Also, there is so much variety! I have a special diet and have been able to find everything I need and more, from my lovely Food Basics. They are reliable and I am glad I can find everything from cocoa to miso soup. Food Basics helps make eating a joy.

Yes there Strawberries,are les then two dollars. I'm sorry but,the one's I bought earlier. This afternoon at the,lyon location were not edible. I bought two,to see if they were like last time. They were since COVID,the quality of the fruits and vegetables. Have not been,as good as before.
Not great service from Manager @ Ajax Ontario location
In late May 2026 I found some cheese that was past the best before date - one package from Mar 2026, one from April 2026 and 5 from earlier in May 2026. I took them to customer service saying I would like to buy the May 2026 ones with hopefully a 50% discount. Manager wouldn't do it for me. Said he can't sell expired product. I told him I've see other food basics or metro stores offering slightly past the best before date for 50% off. He shrugs. So I asked him are you just going to throw it out? He said yes. I said well can I just take it then? He wouldn't allow it. So nonsensical. And obviously they need to do a way better job checking the bb of their fresh food/dairy items. Something bb in March and still on the shelves in May? Ridiculous!!!!
