Indy store is dangerous

Reviewed on 2020-10-31T06:32:27

My wife and I are from Ohio but we discovered Fry's on one of our trips out to Vegas a number of years ago.Over the years we went to 9 of the stores in different states and after doing a bit of searching we discovered that there was a Fry's in Fishers IN that became our go to for electronic & computer parts. The last and final trip we ever had to any Fry's store was the one in Fishers. We were there with friends and I deeply cut my leg open on a broken/bent metal shelf corner. The exposed edge of the shelf sliced through my pants like they were not even there. When I tried to get into the men's restroom to get something to stop the flow of blood I was told that the bathroom was closed for cleaning .. I would just have to wait to used them" .. I told the person guarding the entrance that this was an emergency AND I pointed to the blood that was dripping onto the floor. The employee sighed, rolled her eyes and told me there was another bathroom I could use. I just had to exit to store and walk around the building to get to it. Over the next week I tried calling the store 11 different times to talk to a manager and left messages and NEVER got a call back. I have a nice big old scare on my leg as a reminder of how Fry's treats their customers.

Order placed with expedited mailing

Reviewed on 2020-06-21T00:56:08

Order placed with expedited mailing. Called 10 days later-where is it? Was told I would receive a return call which I did not receive,so I called back the next day. Those initially answering the call each day were really nice each time and researched. On the repeat call when I was connected to the actual store, another person initially told the order had shipped on the original day it was ordered. When I pushed the person to verify that again or resend since I never received the order, his story changed stating it was just sent out the day before on the day of my original call. All the person had to do was apologize for the delay!

I do enjoy the daily emails I get on…

I do enjoy the daily emails I get on the daily deals and the weekly deals I've actually been able to save quite a bit of additional money.Totally worth reading the emails and then seeing if they have a phenomenal special one day special on something you need. I love the ability to buy it online and just go to the pick up counter and walk out. Granted they don't have the phenomenal discounts they had 20 years ago but still...you are going to pay considerably less than you will at any of the big box stores.

Fry’s Former Glory

Reviewed on 2019-09-21T10:03:54

A half full (or empty) parking lot, half the items on the shelves, half the staff available, and only one register open for checkout. This is a summary of my last two visits with two of my favorite Fry’s Electronics. One in Anaheim and the second in Houston near I-45. My third fave is the Las Vegas location off I-15. It’s been but a few short years since I shopped at Fry’s, but what made Fry’s the place to go-to place for all my PC, tool, car audio, and other gadgetries are gone. Only for now I hope because Fry’s was my Disneyland. I could spend all day and way more money than I planned on. Part of this was due to Fry’s magical ability to transform my wants into needs. They did this thru their excellent, knowledgeable, and reasonably available staff and abundantly stocked items. I often didn’t realize how absolutely helpful an item or tool was until I saw it. To me, that’s inspiration, or brilliant manipulation. At least Fry’s theme park-like atmosphere is intact. I like this part of my shopping experience. Each store I’ve visited, had its own theme. Such as, Houston’s indoor oil rig with uniformed mannequins. Anaheim has a space shuttle command deck. And, Las Vegas of course, has a slot machine façade with working giant screens to indicate you’re a winner. Inside, there was a grand piano. When not being played, the piano played remotely to keep the ambiance going. Additionally, each store has a café. Fry’s layout accommodated either the in-and-out shopper who easily found what they needed (or wanted), or someone who wanted to take their time and take in all the sites. There was never enough time in any one day for me to see, sample, and inquire about everything. However, I always left happy, inspired, and eager to come back. All these positive experiences were some years before I joined the online reviewing community. So, when a staffer performed beyond my expectations, I filled out the specific Fry’s form. It was my pleasure to do so. That was then. Now, I shopped at Anaheim and didn’t find what I needed. I picked up a few things however, I left the items at the only open register because the nice lady couldn’t get the register to work. I successfully bought the same items at the Houston location but still didn’t find the main item I needed. Gone is the inspiration and reason to spend the time and the fuel driving to Fry’s. After talking to a few associates, they believe Fry’s management is going thru a transitional period. I’m hoping they’re right and Fry’s transitions back to its former self. I’m not mad writing this. I just want to see Fry’s do better. It’s one of the “brick and mortar” places I hope does better.
