Born in 1927, Hubert James Taffin de Givenchy founded his namesake House in 1952. That same year, he presented a collection that would leave an indelible mark on fashion history: his "separates" – elegant blouses and light skirts blending architectural lines and simplicity – met with enormous success in light of the more constricted looks of the day. The "enfant terrible of Haute Couture" was born. Spare lines, slender hips, slim silhouettes and swan-like necks won over actresses from around the world. In 1955, Hubert de Givenchy presented his first shirtdress; the evolution toward lantern shapes would become iconic. Audrey Hepburn, as the designer's muse, accompanied him in inventing a style that would redefine standards of elegance. In 1969, the launch of the "Givenchy Gentleman" line became a reference in men's fashion. After a career spanning more than 40 years, and having become a part of the LVMH group in 1988, Hubert de Givenchy retired in 1995. He would be succeeded by some of fashion's great creative talents, among them John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Julien MacDonald, Riccardo Tisci, and, most recently, Clare Waight Keller, who designed the gown Ms. Meghan Markle wore to wed Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, in May 2018. Just two months earlier, Monsieur Hubert de Givenchy passed away peacefully in Paris, aged 91. In June 2020, Givenchy opened a new chapter in its history with the appointment of Matthew M. Williams as Creative Director of women's and men's collections. A self-taught designer, Mr. Williams brings to the House a commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail as well as an intuitive understanding of tailoring, technology and integrity in fashion. His flair for translating cultural undercurrents into high fashion, coupled with his vision of the House's timeless attitude and inclusive allure make him the ideal steward for moving the Givenchy legacy forward in a modern and powerful way.

Terrible customer service. I paid £500 for a t shirt for my Grandsons birthday in March and the Givenchy label inside was hanging off due to poor stitching.There were loose threads everywhere. I rang customer service and they asked for photos of the damage to be sent, which I did. Two weeks later I received an email saying that they accepted the damage but I had to return it for a repair! I refused demanding a replacement and two weeks later they replied saying they’re not prepared to replace it so I’m going to have to take my complaint further. Two months of complaining and still got a ver expensive damaged t shirt. I’ve had better customer service from a supermarket. Avoid buying this overpriced rubbish!!

worst customer service ever garbage team don’t waste your time with this company they can’t do anything for you been waiting for a refund to be processed since saturday ,they just start refund on wednesday when i’ve called everyday since saturday to make sure the refunds were released timely because they couldn’t do a simple size exchange they required me to cancel the whole order WAIT FOR THE REFUND ! AND THEN ORDER THE CORRECT SIZE ! well great guys thanks for the late refund shoe is going to sell out ! better to spend money elsewhere trash company BEWARE

Thank you, ordered some sliders online they didn’t fit, I called the lady on the phone she was lovely,she uplifted free of charge - refund was in my bank days later. I ordered the size up - fit perfect!

The customer service for Givenchy is absolutely atrocious. I will never purchase an item from them again.My fiancé purchased sneakers for me for my birthday, I tried one shoe on and didn’t like them. We went online and purchased a second shoe that I liked better. We packaged up the original shoes and sent them back within 7 days. They sent the shoes back to us saying they had been worn and were not in original condition. I tried ONE shoe on and took 2 steps. If you are going to charge me $700 for that, you have absolutely no clue on how to run a business. We called customer service to complain and they said “clean them up” and then send them back. Are you kidding?? You are making the CUSTOMER get the shoes professionally cleaned THAT ARENT EVEN DIRTY!!!! What an inconvenience and an absurd request!! We didn’t want to wait any longer, so we did just that. “Cleaned up” the shoes and sent them back. I have photos to prove how they were 100% in immaculate condition. We waited 2 MONTHS for any sort of contact no email no call NOTHING!!! We called customer service repeatedly asking where the refund is? What is going on?? No one knew!! They said they had been delivered back to Givenchy but they couldn’t figure out why we hadn’t been refunded. Again, they said we will call you back. Another few weeks go by NOTHING!!!! My thoughts are that Givenchy is struggling to stay afloat and they are trying to keep every penny. Do not purchase anything from them online!! They WILL BLAME YOU for ANYTHING if you are trying to return an item and keep your money!! This company is a scam, I used to be in the luxury retail career and we would NEVER allow this to happen to our customers. It’s disgusting they do this to their customers!! I warn you, do NOT purchase from this company, you will be out hundreds of dollars if your item is incorrect and you need to return it!!!

I placed an online order on 11/06/2020. I ordered 3 items; a hoodie, a pair of slide sandals and a handbag.My order arrived on 11/13/2020. Upon arrival, I tried on the hoodie and the slides. Both were too big and I repackaged them to be returned. I shipped the items out on 11/14/2020 via UPS. Tracking information shows the items were received by Givenchy on 11/17/2020. It is 11/23/2020 and I still have not received an update or confirmation of the return from the merchant. Furthermore, my package was missing the MINI ANTIGONA BAG I purchased. I reached out to customer service for the first time on 11/15/2020. I was told on 11/16/2020 they would not refund me because they had photos of the purse in a shopping bag and that was 'proof' it was shipped to me. I kindly asked for the issue to be escalated to management as a picture does not prove it was actually shipped. How would I receive and acknowledge I received 2 out of 3 items? The issue was so called escalated and on 11/21/2020 received the same automated response that I would not be refunded but no further investigation was done regarding my missing item. I would like Givenchy to stop putting the blame on the customer and own up to the fact that they made an error and refund my money that is rightfully mine.

What a credit to Givenchy.... shopping at Debenhams Liverpool 1 today specifically to be matched forillamasqua foundation came across the most beautiful soul Connor who was more than happy to help informing me that it was online only...... he knew his stuff and asked what foundation I wore in fact he went above and beyond he made me feel at ease as well as including my 11 year old daughter who came away saying he must have lots of friends mum he is so nice ... came away with the everwear foundation which is unreal and a sample of primer and perfume which I will be purchasing very soon amazing customer service I cannot praise him enough ?
