This is a bit preliminary but valid despite its limitations. I’ve heard of this company in the past but never pursued it.This morning I awakened to this NEVER ENDING article by its publisher Jackie Flynn on the subject of deluxe vacations to be had for a few dollars. It promised “secrets” on how to obtain MAJOR discounts. Most mature adults or even teens would realize 2 min in the article that this was HYPE on steroids. I was perhaps a bit sleep drunk and therefore seduced to subscribe. But AFTER I finalized the subscription, I could not EXIT the site!!! There was one more subscription after another. All these subscriptions came with offers and the list LITERALLY had no end!! I was forced to subscribe to another product. I tried LATER AS A MEMBER to locate that initial article and the “free” publication on vacation savings. Nothing was found. I’ve read some reviews including on your site which I presume is legitimate. The reviews are NOT balanced. One can conclude a 5 - 1 UNEVEN distribution is suspect and the few 1 reviews are honest. All refer to refund problems. My impression on DAY 1is this is a Ponzi scheme operation. You are enticed with something like free vacations to subscribe. That article on cheap vacations vanishes and you are inundated with endless promotionals. Used car salesmen of my generation are Boy Scouts when compared to the sales tsunami that is IL standard operating procedure. I’ll call Monday and hope to get a live AND professional rep and will try to cancel that second unnecessary subscription I was forced to make just to get free from their site. This company just doesn’t behave as a quality business by its sale and refund tactics. Their “5” level reviews are bought or fake. I’ll submit a follow up review following my experience when calling customer service BUT there’s enough for me to issue a warning. As the saying goes: if it looks like… sounds like…walks like… then it must be … In this case, one can replace the … with scam. I’ll give them ONE AND ONLY ONE CHANCE to prove me wrong.

Int. Living Charged without consent and denied to refund

International Living charged my creditcard without my order or consent an annual subscription.This made me stop my creditcard to not risk further theft and get a new one. I complained that I had not ordered this and asked the company to refund. I did not get any money back. They claimed that they had tried to return my money. And I should talk to the bank. Which I did a couple of times. I asked International Living again as the bank did not receive the money. Then Internationational Living said, that they could not refund as they did not find an open creditcard.... that I closed and got a new.... So they claimed to not be able to refund as they had tried it once. Even when the card was closed due to their theft for a not ordered subscription.

I've been a reader of International Living since at least 1988 (stayed at a property on honeymoon advertised in IL classifieds that year).The magazine and IL Postcards has always been chock full of information relevant and timely to aspiring expats. Their conferences are excellent, as are their educational materials. This year, I attended the Costa Rica Private Screening virtual conference and it was truly beyond compare! Their Ecuador & Panama offerings are just as consistently excellent as well.

I have been a reader and follower of International Living for close to 10 years now,I think it is.
I learned about Costa Rica when I saw a photo in International Living Magazine. That's when I started investigating the country and decided that it is my ex-pat destination in a few years.
I also attended the online Costa Rica Seminar which had a lot of good information. Glad I found them!

We discovered International Living at least 10 years ago when we first decided to move out of the country upon retiring.We recently attended the virtual Costa Rica Private Screening and we very impressed with the information presented. Even though we had done a lot of our own research, these experts answered all the questions we still had.
I have since sent emails to the presenters regarding immigration to Costa Rica and shipping our household goods. They have been very responsive and answered right away. I definitely recommend IL to anyone who is considering a move to another country or even if you just want information. I’ve had a great experience with their services.

When I attended my first International Living Conference I was skeptical. Was this going to just be a 3 day hard sell?This is not an uncommon fear for first time attendees as I learned at subsequent conferences meeting newbies over the first day's breakfast.
Happily I was able to put their fears to rest. Far from being a sell-a-thon, I was happy to say that they were about to meet a collection of serious and honest speakers who were there to openly share their knowledge, experiences and expertise in helping them make an intelligent and informed decision about the possibilities in their future.
Being allergic to sales people myself, I could honestly sat that I wouldn't have returned had my first experience (Costa Rica) been a "hard sell".
If you are at all interested in the opportunities available to you living and retiring overseas, IL is the perfect place to start.
