By means of the ipernity members association (ima), which operates this website, ipernity provides the protected private sharing of photos, videos, audio files, and blog entries with family and friends, as well as the global publishing of selected contents. Today, more than 7.5 million photos and other entries are online. Within its pages, ipernity promotes the mutual inspiration and direct communication with the help of DeepL, currently the world's best machine translator. Other features of this website include a unique picture-in-picture function, post-upload editing and replacement, tagging, geotagging, albums, internal mail service, and more. Full-size uploads and downloads (with complete EXIF and IPTC informations) are possible. Since ipernity‘s web service is 100% owned by its members, it is unaffected by ideological, political, religious and/or other interests. Most of all, it is independent from financial interests of investors. Its only obligation is to promote the interest and requirements of the community. User's privacy, private data, and content, are protected and will neither be analysed nor used by anyone for commercial or other marketing purposes. Material released for publication may appear in search engines, but nowhere else.

This site is like what Flickr used to be like before Yahoo ruined in (IMHO). Its a community ownedsite and therefore doesnt put making profits in front of providing a good service for its users.
I like the way you can display your photos and it has a good community.

I am a relatively new member, but found myself immediately welcomed, encouraged, accepted.Ipernity is a relatively small community, but it includes members from many countries all over the world, both professional and amateur, with different interests and approaches to photography. It makes for a stimulating, diverse and yet very inclusive community. As a member-owned, not for profit association, it offers not only a great experience in sharing, discussing, enjoying, offering and receiving feedback, but also a chance to be a part of the decisions on how the platform is run, make suggestions and give opinions on its further development. You are not asked to accord any rights to the use of your photos, as is generally the case in commercial platforms; the fee for joining as a member is entirely reasonable and the association is extremely transparent on how the money is spent. You also have the option of joining for free to try it out and see if it fits your needs or expectations and later decide if you wish to become a full member. I did and soon realised I had found exactly the "home away from home" my passion for photography was looking for.

I've been a member of Ipernity for years and enjoy a photo community where photographers with verydifferent focuses present their pictures worth seeing and where it is a matter of course to comment on pictures. This creates an almost family atmosphere and a friendly atmosphere. I would not like to miss Ipernity anymore!

Although this is a relatively small player in the image hosting market, the produce is a nice clean interface that will be popular with photographers.The mess that Flickr became in 2013, which has still not been resolved, drove me into the arms of Ipernity, and I have been happy there ever since.
