Whatever you do DO NOT use this service - EVER. Cancelled my auto-renewal but they still took moneyfrom my bank account even though on my Magzter account said auto-renewal cancelled.

I was fool enough to pay for the Gold annual subscription. But guess what? I have the invoice,money has been deducted from my account, but no access. When I try to open a magazine, it asks me to buy a Gold membership. And if I check purchases, it shows I'm active till next year. I tried adding myself as a family member, and it says 'Already a Gold User'. Ha!
Forget malfunctioning apps. Does not let me access through the website either. The 'contact us' page is a loop. You click help, it asks you to choose an option. You choose the correct option, it takes you back to the start of the whole process. Emailed Customer Support. Received an auto response that they will respond in 24-36 hours. Right. Will see.
I'm of course mad at myself for shelling out so much money for the whole year. Should've gone for the month. That way I would've made a much smaller loss.
Malfunctioning, poorly designed website. Completely un-transparent system. And I guess their software must be pathetic too if it can process payment, generate an invoice, and yet not activate the subscription. After hundreds of seamless, online transactions over the years, I am extremely irritated by this encounter with a supposedly leading brand. Definitely not recommending it to anyone.
Update: My subscription got activated after the email to customer support. So they did respond within 36 hours. Adding 2 stars for the customer support.

I receive a Magzter Gold subscription through Microsoft Rewards so it ends up costing me nothing but points.However I know others are paying around 10 dollars for the same subscription. I am also a subscriber to Pressreader, it has a much wider range of newspapers than Magzter, also unlike Magzter in includes the newspaper supplements. That said it also includes some content that Pressreader does not like the Cambridge News.
I also note that while some magazines appear included such as Computer Active, they are in fact old editions. Some of the scans of magazines/newspapers are also not the best quality.
Finally a criticism of all online magazine websites is that most content is not designed for Tablet reading, which means a lot of zooming and moving.
I think publishers could work harder, like the Independent newspaper to product a better reading experience. On balance were I to pay for one service I would pay for Pressreader (although it is more expensive) but as a "freebie", or if you only read a few magazines that are available on Magzter it's ok. Were it to expand it's computer magazine collection and newspaper content (including US/UK Content) I might cancel my Pressreader subscription.

Bait and switch. Promise access to long list of popular mags. Then you find out you have to pay extra to actually read them or maybe you can see the Dutch version for "free".Also no way to cancel on their app or site and help@ emails are returned undeliverable. Dishonest and unapologetic.

I have to agree with a lot of the other reviews,DO NOT purchase this offer from Groupon.
I have experienced the same problem, all MAGZTER and Groupon do is pass the buck back and forward with no solution.
I have questioned Groupon why they still have this offer on their site with all the complaints it raises, no answer.
It has to be a scam between the companies, to many people are losing out.
As I said previously DO NOT buy this subscription.

DO NOT USE MAGZTER I, like another has said, have had my 12 month gold subscription cancelled after less than 5 months.I have contacted them and provided all the evidence that they have asked for TWICE, this was full proof of payment, date and length/type of subscription. They refuse to re-instate and they have now said that Groupon have refunded me - this is completely untrue!! (see email below) ****Hi Teresa Sadler, Thank you for writing back to us. We’d like to inform you that since you had already received the refund from Groupon, you are unable to access your subscription on Magzter. Groupon are still selling this Magzter 12 month gold subscription. If you do buy, be aware you may not get 12 months subscription, and they will do nothing to rectify. I wish I had checked all the 1 star reviews on Trust Pilot before purchasing.

I signed up with the company after buying a 12 month subscription package through Groupon.Only got 5 months membership untill Magzter closed my account? Tried to sort this out with Magzter but the customer support is unbelievable poor and it takes days to respond and when they do they have all the wrong information. I'm not bothered anymore because I'm not missing anything as the magazine selections are getting smaller as the prime material has left this service and the ones that have stayed are asking premiums on top of the membership.

I signed up for Magzter Gold several months ago, but decided to cancel as I was preferring another magazine subscription service.With some difficulty, as the website is hard to navigate, I cancelled my auto-renewal. Since I did this, my auto-renewal has showed up as 'cancelled'. Despite this, my subscription was taken in both March and April, and when I contacted Customer Service to demand cancellation and a refund, this was begrudgingly given but customer service agent Amanda Cruz suggested it was my fault for 'not knowing' the cancellation process.
How dare a company accuse its customers of being to blame for its inability to process cancellations properly!?
Avoid. Scammers and rude customer agents.
