I am a gold member, I came all the way from Ontario along with my two friends. After a long tiring dayI booked a suite with 1 king sofa bed but unfortunately the staff was so unprofessional and they gave us a small room instead. But things never ends here , after awhile we asked for some extra toiletries but the shift manager on duty was reluctant for some unknown reasons so he called us and told us that if you guys are not from the same address then be prepared police might raid on your room and fine you guys. This is so pathetic approach towards the customers he shouldn’t be doing this. He should have informed us before, he should have provided us all this information before check in. Now at 11pm we are leaving back to Ontario without staying here in hotel because this manager literally threatened us and force us to leave. We will never ever encourage anyone to stay in Marriott ever neither we will stay. This behaviour is unforgettable and we will expose the ugly services and face of this hotel on every social media platform. it’s late and we are driving in this situation so if anything happened to us we already informed our media friends that the responsibility will be lying on this hotel manager.read more
Deceptive and opportunistic!

We became associated with Marriott Vacation Clubs when we were offered a free Hawaiian vacation when signed up for a credit card. When we arrived in Kauai, we learned that part of this trip was a "brief presentation". We were told that this purchase would be an investment us and our children. Since they told us that we needed to decide immediately and we had our toddler with us who was restless and hungry, we gave in and made a purchase. Later, we learned that we could not in fact book a vacation "anywhere in the world", the maintenance fees were FAR greater than what we were told, and we could not sell this at a profit. We thought that Marriott was a company that we could trust!read more

Saved my Bonvoy points for 3 years!!!! Tried to reschedule my trip a few days earlier, and now almost all my points are gone and I can't reschedule because of this situation. I was told I would get all of my points back once I cancelled and rescheduled, but that didn't happen! I am now screwed because my vacation that I worked so hard to collect points for is gone and have have some very unhappy children!! They are now in a "review process" and it could take up to 5 days or longer to hear back, we were supposed to leave in five days. Sigh :(read more
Late check-ins, worn-out appearance
Reviewed on 2021-03-25T22:02:09
Late check-ins for many people in our large group at the Marriott in Normal, IL, earlier this week. The hotel knew this event and its large amount of people were expected to arrive. Rooms were not ready, and management never did offer any compensation, although many of us complained. Rooms still appeared dirty and smelled funky. There were yellow stains on my lampshade next to the bed. Secondly, several parties at this annual conference have been charged for extras and absurd things - smoking-in-the-room charges, although none of these women smoke, and another was accused of some kind of mess in her room. The entire hotel smelled like heavy cleaner or thick air freshener on top of a wet, mildew smell. Our room was terribly hot, and the AC never seemed to kick on.
This Marriott really needs some TLC; the red carpet runners and gold wallpaper is telling as to how long it has been since a remodel. If our state organization has this conference here again, I, for one, and my staff will not attend.read more
Marriott Timeshare Unhappy Story
Reviewed on 2021-03-22T23:36:16
I purchased a Marriott timeshare in 2015. I didn’t know that it would turn out to be one of the worst experiences that I’d participated in.I was upsold and lied to by the salesperson. He was upbeat and excited to share with me all of the experiences I would have in taking cruises. He used my love for travel against me. He proceeded in telling me about these new Marriott points and how they would work but honestly, I still don’t know how they work.
I lost my husband and travel partner, I’ve also developed health issues of my own which makes travel out of reach. I reached out to Marriott with letters in hopes that I could start communicating back and forth with someone in writing. To date, those letters have gone unanswered but I know they were received because both had an employee sign for them. I did receive a phone call from someone in the loan department on March the 1st but all they wanted was money. She didn’t care to address my concerns, my hardships, my inability to make payments, she simply did not care!
I’m appalled that this company can take, take, and take but when you literally have nothing left to give, they still pursue you to get what they want. It’s disgusting, you should be ashamed of yourselves! After looking over this website as a whole, it seems I’m not the only individual who feels this way. If you won’t help me, then I won’t help you. I will make sure to share with the whole world, my closest family, and friends what a selfish business practice this is. It is unethical and should be illegal.read more
Price Match Guarantee is a LIE

Price Match Guarantee is an absolute lie and sham. I booked with them and found the exact same roomin the same hotel for the same dates with the same cancellation policy (I took time stamped photos as proof because I knew they would pull some crap) for less money. I had to waste my time filling out a claim form only for some moron named Julie J. to send me a form email saying they denied it because the cancellation policy didn’t match. I sent back photo proof, not to mention the deal was still online at this time with the exact cancellation policy. She replied that they can’t help it the rates don’t match. Okay Julie J. Which is it now? The rate of the cancellation policy?? Both of which are absolutely supportive of my claim. Total joke. Learned my lesson, I’ll stick with Hilton. Stay away from Marriott they love their false advertising and I’m so happy I wasted 90 min of my day on hold with another moron who had no idea what to do.read more

My sister and I joined my mom at a Marriott sales presentation in 2011. During this presentation, the sales staff told us that a purchase would enable our family to travel every year to a variety of locations; many of which were appealing to us and our future plans. We were told that this would be an investment in the future for our family and that we could easily rent out the unit at any time if we so choose. Since that day, we have learned that nothing that they told us was true!! We tried to sell this back to Marriott several times, once we were told that they were still building and could not take back any units until this was complete. Another time, we were told that they do not take back units that have mortgage debt associated. Every time there is a different excuse! My mother cannot afford this on her fixed income, and we feel that she was targeted by these individuals due to her age. This is unbelievable! We thought that Marriott was a reputable company!read more
