Not a brilliant start, but an outstanding end result!

Not a brilliant start, but an outstanding end result!I was directed to Motorway by a car dealership when I asked about part-exchanging my current (now former)car. I visited the website from my iPhone which directed me to input some basic details and take a bunch of photographs. I was then asked to make an outbound call to Motorway. This is important - I *hate* when companies just randomly make inbound calls at a time that suits them, but never suits me, and then I have to commit to time to take their call. It's too much. I like that I had to call out.I called out and spoke to an advisor who confirmed the details, suggested a price and got my car ready to be sold. This is where the frustration came in. I then got an automatic notification a few times asking me to upload more photos. I checked on the website and all of the photos were already there. I sent an e-mail back and it was confirmed everything was there. My car went live to be sold.My car sold for £984 more than the proposed price Motorway had suggested. I was put directly in contact with the buyer, a dealership. I needed to keep hold of the car for an extra week because of some personal commitments. This wasn't a problem. I wasn't charged any extra, and nobody turned their nose up. It was accepted, understood and allowed. They made arrangements for an intermediary to come and inspect/collect the car. The guy that came was brilliant, super friendly and efficient. He explained what the process was before he did anything and I left him to it. He found a few bits of damage (dents and scratches) that I didn't know about. He reported those to the dealership who called me back and negotiated £200 off the sale price. I was quite happy to accept that compromise. The money was in my bank within half an hour and the intermediary waited with me until the money landed. My finance is being settled for me. The dealer talked me through registering the car as sold to a dealer with the DVLA on the phone. I handed over both keys and the v5c and off my car went into the distance. Job done. 6 months ago, when I first ordered my new car, I put my now-former car through We Buy Any Car where it showed a value of around £10,500. I was in negative equity on the car finance, and was looking at around £2,000 in fees/charges to voluntarily terminate my contract. Yesterday, I sold my car for £13,858 which, after my finance is paid off, means I turned a profit of about £3,200 which is already in my bank account, and didn't do damage to my credit file. This is before I factor in the hidden benefits like the pro rated refund for my GAP insurance, car insurance and car tax, all of which is coming my way in the next couple of days.To compare to private sale, the same model is going on Autotrader for about £14,500-15,000 at the moment. A mild concession of around £1,000 on private sale price to avoid all of the haggling, tyre kicking, risk and messing about seems well, well worth it. Total effort for me was taking a couple of photos, making a phone call and handing over the keys. Money straight in my bank, finance cleared for me, it literally could not have been easier. Thanks Motorway.

Whilst the service is great and saved me time the process with photos and awaiting for them to be verified delayed my car going on sale.Overall great tool and service but don't expect a sale that quickly I believe it was two weeks and several calls and WhatsApp before it went on sale.
