Because of my inadvertence, I didn't cancel my trial subscription and was charged for an annual PRO membership.I contacted MuseScore about a refund and they gave me back a significant amount of what it cost. The support team was really respectful, and provided me with many solutions to the problem. They also responded in a timely manner. Overall - great service, good people, thank you :)

I am Having trouble getting a refund of £34.75 from Musescore after they gave me a full membership which I apparently had not opted out of.
This is the email I received,giving no indication that I was to be charged for full membership or option of cancelling.-
The trial period for your MuseScore Pro ends on May 11 at 10:30 GMT.
We hope you have been finding MuseScore Pro useful.

You subscribed with (email account) Musescore account.
I can see that you started a subscription with a 12-month auto-renew plan in April 2020. The auto-renew for this account was not canceled before the beginning of the current billing period. So you were charged for a PRO subscription as advertised. This purchase was fully pre-authorized on your side while subscribing. See attached.
But taking into consideration the inconvenience of the existing situation I've decided to discuss it with my head office. So here is our special offer for you.
Would you agree to get 10-months additional access to Pro or a 55% refund? This way you'll keep PRO access not only in the web account but also in our Mobile Apps, including off-line access to your scores at any time, transposition, and mixer tools.

I am fed up with sites that do not make it CLEAR that there is going to be an additional charge later on when you sign up to free trials.

Very tricky refund process.
I was charged £40 for a PRO 1 year membership after I failed to cancel a 1 week free trial.They made it very difficult to get my money back, and a year later they charged me £35 for an auto renew.
After this, I got a total refund of £30.
Customer service was helpful, however I don't believe they were completely honest with everything they told me re my subscription.

When I purchased Musescore I remember thinking it was expensive but I had access to some music that I wanted.Turns out they charged me twice without letting me know - once for the app, once for the site?!? I cancelled the subscription but then when I was charged again a year later... Turns out I only cancelled one of the 'subscriptions' - and they are refusing to refund me! I feel totally scammed. They are clearly relying on users to make mistakes and making it difficult to cancel on purpose (while they clearly make it very easy to charge you twice). Beware of this service!

The worst and most expensive app I have ever purchased! Lots of notation just giving half a song and no chords!Totaly abissmal refused refund within 48 hrs from google, basically it is daylight robbery, cannot emphasise enough how totaly useless this app is.... Shame on the developers, though it has probably been produced by bankers not IT proffesionals.....

I am a longtime Lilypond user, but the Musescore software looks really good and keeps improving.And fully open source. The website had been a great place for people to openly share their work. No longer.
The big issue for me is that they are making money off the work of the content providers and giving exactly nothing back. And even worse, charging the folks that upload all of that music for the privilege.
