Just had the most ridiculous conversation with not 1 but 2 (supervisor) customer service people..... Firstfrom Philippines who COULD NOT UNDERTAND AND ANSWER BASIC QUESTIONS RE: no issues received for 3 months. Both she and supervisor (American who spoke English) could not listen or understand the problem. Each gave different info re: problem, then adding 3 more problems. What has happened to the "National Geographic Magazine?"

Reviewed on 2021-03-09T01:51:42

Fifty-seven years ago, an older gentleman that I worked with suggested I become a member of National Geographic. My hobby was then and still is amateur radio and I conversed, using Morse code, to fellow radio enthusiasts all over the world. He said this magazine would open up the world to me and he would be willing to sponsor me to become a member. Well, that was one of the best decisions I ever made. I read the magazine from cover to cover and even loved looking at the great advertisements, such as Cadillac automobiles. Over many years, I also have recommended the NG to friends and family and gave subscriptions as Christmas presents. Then, several years ago, NG changed the paper and finish to a different type and queried members how they liked it. I was not impressed at all with the quality and appearance and gave my opinion to NG. The NG made the revision permanent to my disappointment but I could live with it. In the last few years, the magazine has changed drastically in many aspects. The magazine has transformed from geography and culture to opinionated social issues, anti-police position, anti-capitalism, and liberal political agenda. Also, political editorials are the last thing I want to read expressing the editor’s ideology. The NG should be politically neutral and stick to geography, space, and other related topics. The colorful graphics and charts look impressive at a glance but are difficult to gather clear data. The change to small font and font type to cut printing cost has made it difficult for this subscriber and other fellow members to read. Customer service is horrible! My experience has been that people that filled those positions are rude, difficult to understand, and can’t answer simple questions. The NG website is also sub-standard and needs to be updated and improved. When my membership ends in 2021, I will not be renewing it. I no longer recommend this publication. The NG Board of Directors needs to address all of these issues if they don't want to lose their valued subscribers.

The website is the worst

Reviewed on 2021-03-04T05:37:09

The website is the worst. It stopped letting me login even though I had 3 months left on my subscription. When I contacted customer service, I got a form email telling me to send screenshots, which I did, but never heard back from them. Will try by phone to make sure they don't try to charge me for another year. They have ruined a formerly good site.

SUBSCRIPTION DOESN'T WORK! Customer service no reply!

Reviewed on 2021-02-07T03:50:15

Paid for a subscription a couple of weeks ago. I have a confirmation email of my subscription and yet when I went to sign on and show my son (age 5)who is totally into animals, it said my email address is not on the database. I have sent them 3 EMAILS now! I have not had a single response other than that the ticket has been received. It is an absolute joke! DO NO USE THIS SERVICE! It is fine if all goes well but if you have a problem good luck.
