Drop Shipping and Imperial measurements

I live in Belgium, so use their EU site.
I have had good experiences the first couple of times ordering,often were delivered quickly and good information is generally available for most items.
There are a couple of things that cause me to drop the rating and you should take into consideration:
Firstly: if buying mechanical parts, almost everything they sell is in imperial measurements.
Apart from the USA, Myanmar, and Liberia, everyone else in the world uses metric, and trying to get parts to fit or match your already metric build or other parts is pain or worse, useless. This is difficult to know before purchasing as although they generally have good documentation. Many of the parts are light on the details of key measurements and those measurements will likely only be in imperial. So bear in mind, even if the holes line up, simple things like bolts and screws may not fit as the threads could be imperial in the holes.
Secondly: I was looking for some DC motors and found some with the right specs on RobotShop/eu. They were marked as in stock, and as other in-stock items I had ordered were delivered in only a couple of days, I ordered them.
After waiting around 3 weeks for the motors I contacted support at RobotShop. I quickly received an unhelpful reply saying "item you recently purchased is sold via a vendor and is not fulfilled by RobotShop.", So simply translated as "not their problem".
This is not made clear on their site and as the other "vendor" it turns out is in China, what they are doing here is simply Drop Shipping and I am disappointed in Robotshop for this lack of clarity.
Items coming in from China to Belgium are always stopped and can have administration charges of 100 euro plus just to clear customs even if there is no charge for estimated tax from recent experience.
Also, as they are coming from somewhere in China, so the tracking is poor.
I could live with the imperial measurements, and probably not order any other mechanical parts from them in the future.
But based on Drop Shipping alone, I am extremely reluctant to use RobotShop in the future.

Shocking customer service no instructions so took awhile before I realised it wasn't working.Took forever to come had to pay extra import tax was refunded but still caused issues for over 2wks so when it didn't work correctly extremely upsetting cos I have spinal cord damage which causes mobility and pain issues. They send me a new one out still no instructions and send me a link to print a label after some trouble printed what I thought was correct label but no couldn't be that simple not with LR customer service label was wrong I've practically begged them to send me a printed label so I don't have to go to town to get another label out which probably be the wrong thing and I'll probably end up having to pay for the faulty base. Customer service what a joke beware if you value your sanity cos this company will have you question yourself. The issues have now been resolved and the broken item has now been replaced and faulty item has been collected thanks to the lovely lady that called me I'd like to thank her for her help and understanding and as for the instructions I'm on a litter robot website and people who got refurbished Litter robot have sent me pictures of a care pack they got which wasn't in mine and there hasn't been one person who said they didn't get instructions like I did so guessing I'm using YouTube for my instructions as I don't have a printer so I have to go find somewhere to print one of but I'm housebound

Great store. Unfortunately, the purchased Smart Watch turned out to be factory defective and broke after a couple of weeks.I brought them back to the store and, to my surprise, after the decision of the service center, they replaced them with new ones that have been working for more than a year without any complaints. In such situations, the decency of the store is checked.

If I was able to review and choose NO STARS I would do so, these people are the biggest scams and absolutely take advantage of customers with their ridiculous policies.WHAT KIND OF TECHNICAL SUPPORT IS DONE THROUGH EMAIL ? Seriously ???? I purchased a Litter Robot III open air NEW supposedly and after 4 mos it quit working all together. After 4 mos of being jacked around by their multiple layers of scamming employees and sent the “replacement parts” to an actual NEW product that should match mine- i realized that the had sent me a sub par used product that had a single mother board while the one I thought I bought And dang sure paid for only came with one… I’ll leave that for you to figure out! Their ethics are deplorable as well as the lying employees that gave you the runaround day after day! Month aft month. If extended warranty and good service equates to receiving replacement parts in the cheapest way known to man- ie three weeks then def pick this joke of a company.
But If you want to purchase from a legitimate company that upholds their promises and your purchased product is as you believe you are purchasing - DO NOT BUY FROM ROBOT SHOPPE. PERIOD. They are the worst kind of front for schemes which trick innocent consumers. I wonder how many reviews are written by paid or employees on their payroll… It would have to be 99% to match that four and five star rating

"Security" for new customers = bad experience

I placed my first order with Robotshop Canada three days ago. Or at least, I tried to.Shortly after I placed the order, paid using my valid credit card, I got an email "Pending Robotshop order require's [sic] your assistance." The message informed me that my credit card information "didn't match" and that if I didn't get back to them in three days my order would be cancelled. There was no indication of what information "didn't match". The message also said "Please allow 24 hours in order for us to perform further verifications concerning your order". I checked my credit card banking site and found that they had already placed an authorization hold on my card for the amount of my order (over $700). So my credit card info couldn't have been that bad.
I replied to the message immediately. I included the mailing address from my credit card statement and asked them to let me know if there was any other information they needed. I received no reply until the following day, but to be fair there was a holiday (which I'm not counting as one of the three days). The reply at noon yesterday (day 2) was "Please note that your order has been sent once again through our security system and updated status of the order should follow." I expected that it shouldn't take long and hopefully I'd get an update and they'd start getting my order ready by the end of that day. Nothing.
It is now after business hours on the third day. Nothing has been done about my order all day, it is still listed as "processing". I heard nothing from Robotshop today about their "security system". I feel like I'm being treated like a criminal, like they don't care about my business, and definitely as if I'm being kept in the dark. The $700 is still on hold on my credit card. Since it's now been three days since they decided my credit card wasn't good enough for them, are they going to cancel my order now?
If this isn't fixed and either the hold taken off my credit card or my order status updated by close of business ET tomorrow (April 7) I will be cancelling this order and ordering the items through Amazon. Amazon will charge me more, but at least they will accept my perfectly valid credit card and get my items shipped out right away.
Robotshop should not be treating new customers like this if they want to keep us. I understand their need for security, but for first time orders they should add a notice on the ordering screen telling us to expect an extra security check, and telling us which information they need to pass their security check. That would prevent the unnecessary rejection and three plus days of delays and frustration I've experienced so far.
I will update this review if/when this problem is resolved.
