SJ is responsible for my two absolutely worst travel experiences

Our night train lost power and was nine hours late. No heat (winter outside), no food, no toilets.We were not allowed to leave the train. We realise that sometimes it is difficult to do something, but in this case it turned out that the train had stopped five meters from a ploughed road, less 10 miles from a larger town. Then they decided no longer to go to our destination (train was apparently needed elsewhere) but put us on a commuter train, full of people and with no face masks and still no food. So, they could have assisted us, but didn't, and their decisions made us cold, hungry, and at risk for corona.

Terrible Handling of Corona Situation

Absolutely horrible during corona circumstances in my opinion. From one day, I had 3 observations which lead me to believe so. 1)The staff allowed someone to sit next to me despite that there are many other empty seats (I was sitting in the correct seat I was assigned) and had already cleaned the surroundings with my own disinfectant. So, I shouldn't be having to move because someone sat next to me either correctly or mistakenly. The staff was no help at all despite many other empty available seats. And did not even ask the other individual to move (So this implies he was sitting correctly which means that SJ is assigning people to sit together despite other empty seats available) which is absolutely terrible. 2) A man was coughing and throwing up so badly during the entire trip. The staff did not even attempt to remove him to a larger, emptier wagon. He was just ignored by the staff as he kept coughing and throwing up for over 2 hours during the entire trip, in a small wagon with several people in it. 3) A train was delayed for about half an hour while we were in it. Delays in these circumstances should be absolutely avoided to reduce the time of waiting within closed doors of a train. Absolutely bad regarding their handling of the corona situation in my opinion and experience.

Despite big efforts to present a responsible company during pandemic the reality is completly opposite.There is absolutly no effort done by SJ to make travel safe. The train is almost 100% corona guatantee party. Exampels: - You will get seated next to strangers despite "60% reserved" seats. - Seats next to toilet doors, ventilation outlets are avalible despite being high risk positions with alot of traffick - Half of travelers are sick and coughing giving a nice feeling of a sickbay - Some groups are separated and running back and forth in the hallways taking no consideration for others.

UNBELIEVABLE COVID-19 POLICY! Traveling on the 27th-28th of November from the north of Sweden to Stockholm.Booked a mixed hut for 6 people. I believe their policy is to have 3 at max but at first they wanted to place 4 people in this (very tiny) hut. A frenchman with obvious corona symptoms (coughing, sneezing en running nose continuously) toke the cabin next to us which was completely empty throughout the night. An employee of SJ came and placed him in our cabin right next to me (1m distance) because this was on his ticket. He was notably unwanting and reluctantly obliged. If we wanted to be safe from corona we should have paid for the private hut which is much more expensive. Unbelievable this is possible with the current pandemic, this company should be truly ashamed .

Expensive and Monopolistic behavior

This company holds monopoly for most destinations in Sweden and that's exactly how they behave as MONOPOLY.0 respect for their valuable customers. Their service is 0. They are unbelivably expensive without any discounts ever. They behave like only thing they care about is money. If they catch anyone without ticket, no justification is good enough. They will immediately charge you with almost 2000sek. They do not refund your money when their trips are cancelled if you did not but their INSURRANCE. Have in mind their tickets are already among the most expensive in the world. Add Insurrance to that and you pay half of the money you earn on a 8 hour job to pay a return ticket with them. This company is a DISGRACE and my rating for them is -100.

Indecent Covid-19 behavior from a state owned company

As a state owned company, this company has handled COVID-19 very poorly. First, it is nearly impossibleto claim compensation for travels that are cancelled in order to comply with the Public Health Agency's restrictions. Second, once you have suffered through the unclear process of this, you do not get a refund, but credits. That are way less than your purchase value. Third, if you have made the mistake of buying local traffic tickets combined with the SJ ticket, you will discover that these are not at all eligible for credits.

Worst customer service i have ever had in my life. Due to the current corona virus situation I triedto ask how to rebook/cancel my tickets and answer was "I cant answer you right now because you dont have flexible ticket". So basically they dont even bother to help if you dont buy extra protection for your ticket. I wouldnt advice anyone to use this company. Avoid it like it was a cancer.

In 20 years of travelling, SJ are the worst company I have ever met. Missing punctuality targets was met with reducing compensation.That is for starters The Coronavirus: I book several tickets in advance as I travel a lot. But I can't get a refund because I didn't pay their 100Kr per trip Insurance. No respect to their loyal customers. They don't clean the trains when they arrive at long distance trips. Poisonous company run by Monica Lingegård.
