This company and its product are garbage!

Reviewed on 2021-05-18T12:40:41

This company and its product are garbage! I have a $12,000 bed that was 50% off? For $6,000 I have had the worst experience possible.I have had air leaking out, software issues and bolts popping off of the adjustable base. My wife and I have not had a good nights sleep on this thing in over a year. It sounds crazy for the amount of money we spent but it has been the worst decision we could have made. Please be aware that if you call customer service they will let you know you will owe money if they need to send out a repair person? They Do Not stand behind their garbage! There is no “lifetime warranty”. It is only a prorated reduction of price on replacement parts. If you waist your money on this it was because someone sickened you too. Don’t let the gadgetry suck you in.

We fell for the hype and wasted a lot…

Reviewed on 2021-04-10T23:29:02

We fell for the hype and wasted a lot of money in the process. No matter how much we fooled around with the settings,we haven't been able to make our bed feel like the one in the showroom. It feels like an air mattress you camp on with foam on top. You could probably get that setup for $150. Sleep guarantee only applies to the mattress. We're saddled with the base. I can't imagine why someone would want to sleep on something like this. An old school spring mattress is more comfortable.

We purchase a top of the line king size…

Reviewed on 2021-04-06T17:55:33

We purchase a top of the line king size sleep number bed 7 years ago and had a problem. They advertise a 20 year prorated warranty. We called and had to pay $99 for them to come out. They noted a problem and ordered a part. They never sent the part. I called and found they wanted us to pay for the part. We refuse to give this company any money. We’ll trash the bed and never buy another. Buyer Beware!

Awful

Awful. Went in and got price with 30 day guarantee so we could think about it. It was a 7-8k sale,so we needed to think about it. Promotions came over the weekend we wanted to take advantage of. Called store. Store (Exton, PA) said can't do anything got to call customer service. Called customer service, they said we can't do anything you need sales (a woman, wish I had her name) - sent me to "sales" - this time a man. Said I had to talk to customer service. I said I just talked to customer service (each time telling the whole long story) and they said he was the person, he said no, it's customer service and did the equivalent of hanging up on me when transferring me back to customer service. Thenk goodness this is BEFORE we bought anything, which I planned to do today on the call. What will they do after you pay? Their "guarantees" etc? No way will I take that chance and strongly advise anyone else to stay away. You will never get support and the staff is either selling so many they don't care if you buy or not, or being treated horribly so they treat their customers the same way.

Sleep Number Nightmare

Reviewed on 2021-04-04T15:36:37

Our first mistake is trusting the store manager. We ordered a new I8 bed with upholstered headboard.frame, etc. We were in in the middle of a remodel so the lead time was not that important. However we received a phone call stating a March 19th delivery date had been set by the company and we either took it or had to wait an additional 5+ weeks for next delivery time. So we took the delivery time. The bed showed up and it was the wrong bed. The delivery guys suggested we refuse and go to the store to work it out. We went to the store, then we had to contact their customer service department who said we could have the right bed delivered in a week. That never happened. Our new delivery date was pushed into May after an initial order from January. You cannot trust their CS, Executive Escalation Department or their CEO. This company will take your money and not take care of you. Do your self a favor and buy a Tempur-Pedic. They have excellent CS and we got our bed a couple days.

Crazy Policies & How to Get Around Them

Reviewed on 2021-03-17T21:13:11

We have just purchased our second sleep number bed and can’t wait for it to be delivered. The sales process has been pretty bumpy. Sleep Number lets you adjust to your new bed by offering a 100 night test drive. This seems like a really great feature. If we don’t like the mattress after 100 nights we can return it. Great, right? Not really, as they will not give refunds for the adjustable base or the custom sheets that so we will be stuck with $3,600 worth of stuff without a mattress. If the sales process hadn’t been so bumpy maybe I wouldn’t feel so anxious about being on the hook for the $3,600. But there is a way around all their crazy policies without putting yourself in the position that I currently find myself ….I will tell you what I would do differently if I was buying this bed today. Here is what we have experienced so far… With our new bed we bought $550 worth of bedding to fit the split mattress and an adjustable base. The problem is that our bed will not be delivered until after their 30 day bedding return policy has expired. So I won’t know if the sheets fit before it is too late. I didn’t realize this until after we made our purchase….and the salesman never mentioned it. Years ago after we bought our first bed I bought a “gel pillow” that had such a strong chemical smell that my wife would not let it in our bedroom. I returned it – the store manager was surprised by the smell too but all he could offer me was a credit. Unfortunately, I could never use the credit as there wasn’t anything in their store cheap enough to apply it to. When we bought our new bed they couldn’t find the old credit from the returned pillow. But they could see that we bought our first Sleep Number in 2006. The salesman was able to confirm we bought our original bed in 2006 but didn’t include the “returning customer discount” in the price he quoted. The salesman also told us the bed we bought (the ile - their most expensive bed) had Enhanced Pressure Relief and Smart Fabric like some of their other beds…but it doesn’t according to their customer service representative and website. Their craziest policy has to do with the adjustable base we bought and are excited about using. The stupid thing is that the base is not included in their 100 night trial that they talk so much about. During the 100 night trial if you don’t like the mattress you will get a full refund for the mattress but not for any of the bedding (our bedding was specific to the split mattress) and you will not get a refund for the base - which in our case was about 50% of the cost of the whole bed. So you can return the mattress but nothing else. Our salesman really struggled with if their base would fit in our traditional king size bedframe. He struggled even more with their refund policy on the base. I’ve now talked to 4 people and have gotten 4 different stories. So here is what I understand - do not allow the installer to bring anything into our house until they check everything out and can confirm that the base will fit with your current bedframe. Because once they bring the base into your house it is ours….even if you return the mattress. So if we don’t like the mattress during the 100 night trial then they will give us a refund on the mattress but we will be on the hook for the $3,600 base and sheets. So here is what I would do differently today - I would: •Buy just the mattress and have it delivered so we could test it for 100 nights. •Have them install the new mattress temporarily on our current box spring…which has worked great with our current Sleep Number mattress for the past 14 years. •I would keep our old mattress until the trial is over so that if we don’t like the new mattress and return it then we have something to sleep on until we buy something else. •Only buy the adjustable base and custom sheets after the trial is over and we know we like the mattress. Sounds crazy, but you will sleep better knowing you can’t get stung by their crazy policies. In our case, we wouldn’t be on the hook for $3,600. I wish our sales person would have suggested doing this…….better yet, I wish the company would change their policies so these problems didn’t exist.

I ordered my bed 2 months ago

Reviewed on 2021-03-17T03:25:18

I ordered my bed 2 months ago. I’ve been waiting 2 months to get my bed delivered and as I type this I’m sleeping on my mattress on my bedroom floor like a college kid.The big difference is I’m not a college kid, I’m a 43 year old woman who paid thousands of dollars, months ago, for a bed they couldn’t bother to deliver on time, even though I’ve had an appointment for two months. To add insult to injury, the driver called me at 11:00 am this morning to tell me they left the dock late and might be a bit late delivering my bed, but then retracted and said since I was their last delivery it might be fine. At 6:15 pm, after my delivery window had come and gone with no further communication, I finally called customer service, waited on hold for 20 minutes, only to be lied to again and told they were finishing up at another house and I was next, “they said they’re in my neighborhood and would be here in an hour”, according to the customer service agent who supposedly spoke to th. 1.5 hours later, at 7:45 pm, I call again because no one is here yet and am told they only have one technician in the field right now, and not to count on him arriving tonight. She then tells me she will have a manager call me to reschedule my appointment and discuss recompense. A manage never called. I have dismantled my other bed because I was told multiple times they were arriving today between 3-6 pm. They had hours to call me to tell me otherwise and they did not. It’s likely if I hadn’t called them I would never have heard from them at all. I’m beyond furious, I will be beyond surprised if someone actually calls me tomorrow, even more surprised if they actually show up with my bed, and further still surprised if they do anything to make this right. I can not believe how much money I paid for such poor customer service. I bought the Ferrari of beds to look at my sales ticket, compared to other beds, and yet I’m getting used car service. I’m so angry. This isn’t one and service experience, this is several bad service experiences compounded, all in one day, before I even have my bed installed! Horrifying to think what’ll happen if anything ever goes wrong. Then again, why should they care when I get my bed, they took my money 2 months ago.
