I have just spent 16 minutes with Speedtest (Jane Lewis and a very strong Indian accent)She claimed to be with Openreach, and advised me that I have a problem with the speed on my internet. and needed to log on to her website, I did this and she tried to get me to hit the consent box, I refused as it meant giving permission to send me junk mail. she got very abusive, accused me of wasting her time. I gave her a piece of my mind, asked for her supervisor, she then hung up on me.

Pushy, Threatening and Dangerous

Pushy, rude, persistent and Potentially Dangerous. I have put the shouting (from them) in capitals. These people outright lie to you. 1st phone call....They stated that they were Open Reach, then asked me who my internet provider was (they should already know that). They then asked 'what can I call you' (trying to get my name). Then stated there have been internet speed problems reported in my area. I asked them where they believed my area to be and he stated he could not say my name or post code because the calls were recorded and it breached data protection!!!!!! He then wanted me to log onto their webpage, speedtest.net. I asked what he intended to do and he stated 'JUST DO IT'. I said goodbye. 2nd phone call (1 minute later) 'why did you hang the phone up, just log onto our webpage? Goodbye from me again........ 3rd phone call (10 minutes later). This is where the aggression and threats started. He said 'I am not going to stop calling you until you do as I say, JUST DO AS I SAY AND LOG ONTO THE WEBSITE'. I explained I knew exactly what they were doing and I would never give them access to my laptop. Told them not to call me again and he replied 'I am going to call you every day and so will my colleagues'. I again terminated the call. Never allow these people access to your personal information or your computer, they are up to no good. This is an edited version of the conversation, there were many more threats made by them and I have had several subsequent calls which I have not answered.read more

I called my company because of slow internet and they told me to go to speedtest and download the app to test my speed since "Websites often can't tell how fast you really can go,often given you a lower number"
On the website I had like 700 mbps
On the app I had 150 mbps
But the website "often given you a lower number" =3=
The app MIGHT be more legit, but the website is full of lies.read more
