Helpful staff…
We had a super evening watching Operation Mincemeat. My father is hearing impaired but the theatre organised a headset for him to use so that he could enjoy the performance. We asked for this at very short notice and the manger literally ran up the stairs with me setting it up ready to use. We interacted with 4 different members of staff and they were all very helpful, all together we had a lovely evening.
Overall atmosphere was great.
I saw Jimmy Carr in November and it was great. Enjoyed pretty much everything about the experience, especially the show itself. The parking was close and the discount was very much appreciated. The atmosphere was fantastic and the seating was great. We sat on one of the balconies and from my seat it didn't look like there was a bad place to be sat in the theatre. There was little to no queuing and the staff were very helpful. The only point that let it down was the price for drinks. £6.20 for a pint in a plastic cup was in my opinion massively overpriced.
Grayson Perry Show
The show was fun, interesting, different, wonderfully non politically aligned. Grayson is very personable and non celebrity. The Theatre was dire. Sat at H6 I could only see 2/3rds of the screen so many of the pictures and questionaires were hidden! The QR code was hard to read as the theatre lights were bright white and stopped the phone reading the code. I only joined in about half the interaction. The drinks were exorbitant as no draft beer or soft drinks, and most bottles had foreign labels on... support your local industry? .. Tadcaster is only 15 miles away!!! airmiles??? I didn't feel the fire safety was all that good. I have only developed a few multi storey flats so not directly applicable, but It didn't look so good to me; I presume you have a sprinkler system? I did try to post this review with the theatre's review own notice board but the CAPTCHA system wouldn't allow it.
I tried calling them
I tried calling them. I was in a queue for ten minutes and then the call was abruptly ended.T his happened a second time and so I gave up. Hopeless
Disappointing venue with poor view from the cheap seats
I didn’t buy the tickets, I was lucky enough to win them at a raffle. I was in row F of the balcony. The orchestra on stage was a big one, Q the music, playing James Bond music. It wasn’t until the end of the show that I realised they the drums were actually being played and there was a row of horn players at the back, I couldn’t see any of that because of the head of the stage restricting my view. I wish I could have upgraded as the concert was superb. Bar prices were ridiculous and the really smooth vodka! Almost as though it was water! Who’d have thought. Vodka is my usual tipple, but there wasn’t much in my double and tonic.
Zero stars.
Zero stars. Very dodgy theatre ticket scams. Bought a pair of tickets at a good price weeks before a performance, only for them to cancel my tickets due to sudden high demand. Bloody cheek, my money was good enough when they needed sales, but not good enough when demand increased. Scumbags! Their non replies to these reviews speaks volumes. Not another penny from me.
Total Disgrace.
Total Disgrace. Took my partner to the Gary Barlow Concert on June 7th and was disgusted bythe management of the event. Young Brad Kella had a 25min set followed by a 20min interval before GB started his performance. During Brad Kellas performance 100's of people were flowing in to take their seats. Totally Disresptful to the young man. The management should have close the auditorium before he started and reopened it during the interval. Its fine if they didn't want to see his performance, but they shouldn't have been allow to disrespect it AND spoil it for those who did. Total Unprofessional Disgrace
Captioned performance - Deception
I am profoundly deaf and can only enjoy theatre productions with subtitles. I booked a ticket for Warhorse for what was described as a captioned performance but my ticket, which was in the gallery, was too far away to be able to see the two caption screens which were at the front of the theatre. This meant I sat through the production in ignorance without having a clue as to what was happening. I contacted the theatre and requested a refund as I considered their description of a 'captioned' performance was misleading and deceptive. Their response was it was my fault and I should have done this, that and the other. I shall be pursuing my ticket price through the courts.
