Making it up as they go along...
The business has an exceptionally poor management board. The senior managers have no prior experience and are simply making it up as they go along. This poor practice doesn't just apply to the daily operation of the business but also in the things they promise to clients too. The main selling point of their product is that the public sector is in a poor place and are desperate for a more modern solution - hardly a reason to choose adam's offering over anyone else’s, given that it rarely performs as advertised. As far as culture goes, it is archaic. Everyone is expected to be in the office Monday – Friday 8.30 to 5pm and it is frowned upon to put in a request to work from home. The senior managers who have the backing of a distant and inaccessible CEO continuously in-fight over their approaches, none of which have any credit to it other than “because I said so”. The most serious concern at adam thought is that they have demonstrated time and time again that they are quick to dispose of people as they constantly restructure and re-hire as they attempt to come up with an operation that is profitable. There several previous reviews on Glassdoor dating back to that warn about this unstable culture and although recruiters might tell you that they are from vexatious ex-employees, they are still just as relevant as ever. I would encourage any prospective candidate who isn’t put off at this point to look their interviewer in the eye and ask them how many redundancies were made in the last 12 months – it is absolutely astounding how these mindless “businessmen” can convince anyone that their latest plan is the one.
