What does V-MODA do?

Born with the spirit of Ibiza, V-MODA is the music lifestyle brand dedicated to delivering you the most personal audio experience possible: "Stylish Sound, Your Way". Founded in the influential music and entertainment hub that is Los Angeles in 2004, the gap in the market between the fashion, tech and music industries was clear: a genuine lack of stylish headphones, made of premium materials, that worked with your style, not against it. And filling that gap has been V-MODA's mission ever since. Today the company has sold over 4 million high-end headphones around the world, creating legendary fan-favorite products like the Crossfade series, and has become the preferred brand of many of the world's most popular producers, DJs and modern audiophiles alike. A fully-fledged Roland brand since 2019, we pride ourselves on our international outlook, well-balanced working environment and giving every team member the opportunity to make a real impact on our community. V-MODA joined forces with Roland of Japan on 808 (August 8, 2016), to redefine and develop the next breakthrough in music products and push the boundaries of audio innovation to reach a global audience of music aficionados. V-MODA and Roland do not tune headphones only as the artists intended but as both the instrument engineers and artists intended.

Terrible customer service

Reviewed on 2021-05-07T20:39:34

Terrible customer service. They have no contact number, only respond on email which you can expect earliest response in a day,but sometimes 2/3. When answering questions they don’t answer all questions, they answer briefly and offer no solutions to the problems you have. E.g I have an old pair i wanted to trade in via immortal life for the codex wireless. The codex is available to buy on their website but can’t be traded via immortal life program. I asked on email why this is. They said it is out of stock, when it clearly isn’t. I asked for any work around as it is definitely not out of stock. Another delayed response later they just repeat it is out of stock. I asked for a contact number to speak to someone and they ignored this question twice.

Lack of customer support

Reviewed on 2021-03-19T16:26:30

Although the headset speakers (Crossfade LP2) work well, the headband material begins to deteriorate after about a year of *light* use. After a few years, the product looks cheap and worn down. I tried contacting V-Moda to inquire about headband replacements, whether covered by warranty or purchased, but after submitting an email via their contact page and making multiple calls over the course of a week, I have not been able to reach anyone, except voicemail boxes. Looks like their customer service matches their ridiculous "Six-Star Service" slogan. Both are nonexistent.

Customer Service

I've had the M100 headphones, which I absolutely love, for 4 years now. They're hard to beat for the money.I recently noticed that the material on the headband are crumbling, so contacted VModa customer service to buy a replacement. Their response was "sorry, we don't have this, so just go buy an aftermarket sleeve for it." If you manufacture the headphones, I'm almost certain you do do have them, right? The biggest problem with all this is that it's a known, common issue. I wanted to upgrade to the newer M200 in the coming year, but I won't. I'll look elsewhere for a company with a better quality product and better customer support, even if I have to spend more.

Bought a pair of genuine headphones new…

Reviewed on 2020-10-13T12:34:16

Bought a pair of genuine headphones new from amazon with the backing of the lifetime warrantee to then find out that because I hadn't bought them direct,it has no warrantee. A guy called Billy I was in communication with was very unprofessional and kept pushing me to buy their additional protection. I had a pair of these beforehand and the exact thing has happened again: the jacking point has damage from inserting the cable which has caused one side of the headphones to not work. I will never buy from V-Moda again. Partly because of their customer service (Billy being very arrogant in his responses) and because their lifetime warrantee clearly isn't what they say it is.

I have had 3 pairs of V-Moda's

I have had 3 pairs of V-Moda's. The sound quality is amazing. The physical quality is awful. You will need a new pair about every two years. This time my headphones fell apart at the hinge during a gig after only a year and a few months time. Steer clear of these unless you want to shell out $300 bucks every other year. Product issue, terrible costumer service

Reviewed on 2020-09-04T06:00:10

I bought a headphone from them, the crossfade m100 through an EU reseller. Shortly after I realized the cable that came with it had a weird control issue with Android, not just with my phone but with anyone I've tried. So I got in touch with v moda asking for a replacement. They replied (this is hard to believe) that I should destroy the cable and record a video with my phone while doing it. Only after that they could send me a replacement from US that should be here in 6-8 weeks! I asked them if I could not destroy the cable that still works even with some issue so that I can keep using the headphone while waiting for replacement. They replied that's the procedure! (The cable costs 15€). So I went through the reseller and they could not get in touch with them. Bottom line I'm returning everything and getting an AKG.

There are much better companies to give your business to.

You would think buying a top notch higher dollar set of earphones from V-moda and you would get top notch service for such a device, wouldn't you? Well apparently not. It appears that once the warranty period runs out, tough luck on you if something breaks and you would rather repair the problem then buy a new pair of earphones. Well, I very recently got a first hand experience with their policy concerning repair and replacement parts. I had a minor plastic piece that is sort of V-shaped and goes where the headband connects to the positioning adjustment bracket on one side break into pieces on me. No big deal, I thought, things break and I would simply contact Vmoda and buy a replacement from them and swap it out via the three small screws that hold it in place. Sounds easy enough, doesn't it? Well guess what? V-moda (Billy) told me, and I quote, "Unfortunately we do not sell or send replacement parts for headphones." Gee, swell! So if something breaks on your high dollar Vmoda headphones, I guess your only option is to live with the broken part, or scrap it and buy a new one. Sure sounded to me something like "Well screw you, Mr. Customer! We want you to buy a new headphone, not repair it." But never fear! Your friends at V-moda have what I guess they believe is a just swell solution for you! They call it their "Immortal Life Program". And what that gets you is that you can send your old V-moda headphone back to them, and they will knock off 20 percent from your purchase of an upgraded model. I read that as a "more expensive model", and not just a replacement of your current modeal. Which, of course, when something breaks on that one, there you are right back in the same boat again not having a source for repair or replacement parts. But fear not! You can trade that one in for yet another more expensive pair! Sounds fair, doesn't it? No, not to me neither. I wonder what they do when you finally get to their most expensive upgraded model? So, anyway, bear that in mind if you are considering buying a V-moda headphone set. Once the warranty period is over with, and if it breaks on you, well, tough luck, Chuck. Time to buy a new one. They won't help you fix it. Personally, I will be looking at alternative brands for headphones. This kind of customer "disservice", I certainly don't need, and will NEVER spend even one thin dime again with this company. IMHO.
