Wild Alaskan Company's estimated revenue for 2023 is $6.38M.

What does Wild Alaskan Company do?

The Wild Alaskan Company offers an online direct-to-consumer membership service for premium wild-caught seafood. By joining our monthly seafood program, you'll receive a box of sustainably harvested seafood every month. We source the highest quality seafood from top Alaskan and Pacific Northwest fisheries and ship it directly to your home. If you're like most Americans, you probably find it difficult to consistently buy premium grade seafood. Seafood fraud is running rampant in many parts of this country. In fact, a 2015 Oceana report showed that more than 40% of salmon in grocery stores and restaurants was mislabeled. So, unless you have a trusted source, you're likely not eating what you think you are. With the Wild Alaskan Company, our goal is to create a fully transparent sea-to-table experience, where you always: 1. Know the source of your wild-caught, sustainably harvested seafood. 2. Have direct and regular access to a variety of wild-caught species from Alaska, which we'll curate for you based on seasonality and availability. Think of us as your personal fishmonger!

Not so Fresh. Not Worth it.

Reviewed on 2021-03-28T18:15:14

Our first order was fine. The fish tasted relatively fresh. I say "relatively" because even though it was all one order, some pieces tasted very fresh and others tasted quite fishy and not as new. For the second order, they gave me a very hard time about honoring a discount their rep had offered me via chat, when I was going to discontinue the service. Worse than that, our second order was mostly quite fishy. The sable (black codfish) tasted off, not new. The cojo also didn't taste super fresh. The extra expense in the cost of this fish vs. what's available locally would have been worth it if it was consistently super fresh. But NO. I can get mediocre-quality fish anywhere.

Not Great

Reviewed on 2020-09-22T09:21:48

Everything arrived promptly and was well packed. However our household was not overly fond of their salmon.I'm not sure, if we simply ordered salmon from them on an off week, which is what I suspect, but we have had the stakes for dinner 3 times now and I keep asking my husband who mans the freezer, "How much more of the bad salmon do we have to get through?" Salmon can range from just ok to magnificent. If this was the first time I had ever tried salmon, I'd draw the conclusion, that I wasn't overly fond of salmon. Everything from the smell, taste and texture were not to my liking and salmon is one of my favorite meals. I had the same reaction as another reviewer and wondered if it was even salmon as the texture was oily and odd and it smelled fishier than salmon should. I also did not like the mushiness and the fact that it did not peel away from the skin easily the way salmon generally does. That's why I wonder if we may just have hit Mother Nature on a bad day and this particular salmon or boat haul was not up to snuff. Other people who have tried their service, raved about how unbelievably good the fish was on their website. That's why we decided to try it, based on those reviews. The thought of having heart healthy wild salmon delivered to one's door, once a week that we didn't have to trudge out to the store for, was an appealing prospect. We thought we would give them a try and see if we liked their fish and if so, we would continue with the service which is expensive, due to the care they have to put into its packing. The price of the shipping is expensive for our middle class household. I liked the fact that you could pause the subscription or cancel at any time. Their service has many pluses, especially under Covid when shopping can be challenging. Instead, we ended up canceling the subscription. That was just as easy and quick as they promised, it would be. I would not let our experience put you off from trying them, as natural things can vary greatly and that's not the companies fault. We have all had outstanding apples and potatoes, and those that just weren't that great. Everything about how the service operates was well organized and the shipment arrived safely packaged, so they did everything they promised to do on their end. Just not salmon that the members of our household were fond of. Their customer service department was nice throughout and answered questions promptly. So if I were you, I would try them, many people seemed over the moon with what they received.

Yuck!

We've shipped home fish we've caught on Alaskan vacations before and it was awesome,so when I saw their add It seemed like a good idea to order. What a mistake! I don't know what the heck is up with their fish but it didn't taste like anything I've ever eaten before and I honestly doubt it was even salmon or halibut. Absolutely gross and a waste of money. order #346173

Non Existent Customer Service

Reviewed on 2020-05-24T15:09:21

I signed up for Wild Alaskan Company's service & received the first box of salmon with no issues. The second box was scheduled to be delivered on Friday May 22, I received an email stating that it would be delayed...no big deal. On the 23d FedEx claims they delivered the box at my doorstep, it was not. I live on acreage behind a locked gate. I have tried to contact this company multiple times, there is no phone number, emails go unanswered & live chats are with robots. I am disappointed because their products are of good quality, but the customer service is non existent. I try to be understanding due to current conditions ( covid-19), but bad service is bad service. I have canceled my subscription & will let my circle of friends know about the terrible experience. They were very quick to take my money. Update 5-28-2020 Lauren finally contacted me by email, after a couple of conversations back & forth, convinced me to give them another chance. Carlos with the quality assurance department emailed me this morning to tell me this replacement shipment is also delayed. The original shipment arrived 5-27-2020, rotting in the box, I'm going to have every raccoon & possum within 2 miles trying to get into my garbage can. Still no way to speak or even live chat with a representative of this company. It's not worth the hassle or price, go to your local store & buy salmon.

Don’t do it!!!!

Reviewed on 2020-04-28T15:48:21

If I could leave no stars, I would. I was super excited to receive my order of Salmon (over $100).Wowee was I disappointed. Actually it was worse than disappointment, it was simply disgusting. I ordered two types of salmon, one smelled so so fishy, the other was full of bones. Tried a few more fillets and they were the same, threw the rest away. It was shocking how low the quality was. It’s a total internet scam. Shame on me for even trying it. Of course they’d only post positive reviews on their website, probably from family members. There was no place on their site to add a true review. Don’t do it!!! Update: the owner of the company saw this review, called me and offered a replacement. I wasn’t interested, so he refunded me the full amount. I wasn’t offered a refund when I first called in to let them know how bad their fish was.
