Took out holiday insurance in 2019 for a trip to Corfu. Answered all the questions including any hospital consultations/investigations in last 5 years.I had a CT scan for a condition and by luck the scan showed a lesion on a kidney. I was told it was nothing of concern and could have had it since being a young child. This year, 2021 another scan has revealed kidney cancer and we have had to cancel our holiday. AIG have refused to pay because I didn't declare the lesion. Working on this basis you would have to declare every sore throat you've had in case you develop throat cancer. I also had to pay £60 fro a doctor's note which is non refundable. Ridiculous as if I haven't enough to worry about. I also notice AIG do not respond to comments unlike reputable company s. Avoid, or, declare every ailment you've ever had!!!

Purchased flight insurance. Two weeks after ticket were purchased Delta airlines changed flight from nonstop to multi stop flight making the arrival at destination too late for my meeting.Filed a claim with AIG. It took AIG over two weeks to reply to the claim. AIG stated that the claim was not covered by the policy and it also was not appealable. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON FLIGHT INSURANCE WITH AIG

Waste of money policy.
I had a flight policy which basically covers me for nothing even though my flight was cancelled.They wouldn't cover for any additional costs or even refund or move the policy to cover me for the next available flight. Customer service was argumentative. As usual, just another insurance policy that is inflexible and pointless. Cover people for real life eventualities, like a flight being cancelled and a refund on a policy that wasnt required as there was no flight.

Had my trip insured through AIG. The airline cancelled the flight because of Covid-19.I asked for reimbursement and they stated that this is not covered. Then I asked at least for the money back that I paid for the policy as there is nothing to insure if the trip does not take place. Was told that they cannot do that either. I will never use this company again, they just take your money and won't stand up for anything

AIG Leaves Man with Cancer Hungry.
Holiday insurance company AIG is recommended by Expedia and AmericanAirlines and I booked cover for a holiday to Canada that was cancelled when my partner was diagnosed with cancer weeks prior to the trip.
In every communication with the company while providing the requested documentation I informed them that we no longer lived in the UK but now resided in France. Unlike many reviews I have read since dealing with the company, they agreed to pay out. BUT, that was over a month ago. 1st they sent the cheque to the old address in the UK that they had been informed many times was no longer valid. They took a week to respond to the email regarding that. They agreed to organise a wire transfer and the relevant proof of bank account was sent in, they took a week to acknowledge receipt and another to have, what was basically a page with numbers, translated.
It is now another week later and despite the appalling handling of my claim and the knowledge now that my partner is not getting better, that we have no income due to Covid, bank payments are not being honoured, we are down to one meagre meal a day, that now, due to the stress of it all I am getting ill they still won't prioritise my payment. In fact they have told me it will be another 2 to 3 weeks to process my wire transfer, which is just disgustingly unbelievable in this automated 21st century world!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! From other reviews they rarely pay out and in my case, even when they say they will, they have the most archaic system that creates delay mixed with incompetence enabling them to hold on to YOUR money till the very last minute.
I repeat, save yourself the stress, do some research and book your holiday insurance with someone else. DO NOT USE AIG

AIG is the worst company in history. Terrible public service. Terrible insurance coverage.I bought a protection plan, flight was cancelled. Months later, I am still out $1,000. Amex even refunded me and AIG made a big deal out of it and said they had to "review" my claim. Flight cancelled, story over, refund my money. Still nothing. No one answers phones, when they do, super surly. Never again will I work with a ticket broker with corrupt insurance baker.

Apparently, India revoking all foreign visas is not considered a good enough reason to claim for tripcancellation on my travel insurance.
