There was a time when we had a lot of time free, so we stumbled into the outdoors. We worked in an outdoor shop, saved some cash, and got ourselves kitted out. We travelled, did some routes and life was good. Then our kit started falling apart, we were no longer students and we realised the cost of replacing it. As we waited to pick up yet another x-xtra large fleece in the sales we patched up our waterproofs and wore an extra jumper in our smelly sleeping bags. During this time we realised that the passing years had taught us something, we had the experience to create something new. And somewhere therein lays the real story of how Alpkit.com™ was born. Born out of the passion for outdoor activity and not accepting the costs involved in getting quality equipment in our sacks. Four ordinary people trying to make some thing extraordinary. And why Alpkit.com™? it's just a name.. we go to the alps, we climb, we paddle, we board, we visit our in laws.. we produce kit.. we didn't want it to be complicated.

I have bought and used a number of Alpkit products over the years; they have all been well made and are still going strong.However I noticed that some of the seams on my Phantac down jacket were coming apart. I contacted Alpkit and asked if they could look at it under their Alpine Bond. After seeing the problem they offered to replace it with a new Fantom jacket. Alpkit really do stand by their Alpine Bond - other companies often claim to stand by their warranty but find a reason to reject your claim. Thank you Alpkit. Another very happy customer.

Alpkit used to be so, so good, great kit and great service but the service is now appalling.I have spent a lot of money over the years on Alpkit products but no more. My last two orders did not arrive within the delivery dates and when I queried them, they hadn't even shipped. Impossible to contact them by phone anymore and they don't reply to emails in a timely manner. My previous to last order hadn't shipped as one of the items was out of stock despite showing in stock on the website. No-one thought to contact me to inform me. My latest order, ordered Monday on 48hr delivery, no sign of it Thursday, exactly the same thing, not shipped as one of the items is out of stock (showing in stock on website) and again no-one thought to let me know. People usually learn from their mistakes, Alpkit don't and have lost another very loyal customer. I will never purchase from them again.

After ordering 3/4 bib tights but receiving full length in error, I contacted Alpkit via email.Drew handled the issue perfectly and pulled out all the stops. The correct pair arrived by priority post the next morning in time for my ride on the Sunday.

I own various pieces of outdoor gear by Alpkit, from coats to cooking items and all of the products are well made and have importantly lasted well.Returning to the Hathersage store for patching up where I have ripped my Alpkit and Rab coats is also brill and has made my gear last a little longer. Love ‘em.
