Hotwire refused refund of hotel during covid. Obviously from other reviews you can see they did it quite often.I requested a refund 2-3 months in advance and was told they would get back to me. After the reservation date passed they changed their response that I had to get back to them just prior to my reservation. I have email documentation stating the opposite, but they care little.

Nightmare experience with hotwire and domestic airline reservation. Called late morning Tuesday,was on hold for an hour and seven minutes before I had to take care of something else. Called at 2:15 am Wednesday (middle of the night), with same outcome. Hotwire just puts you on hold for more than an hour (maybe they _never_ answer). I had to call the airline direct and pay $134 more to change the flight. Never, never, never again hotwire.

Rented a car for 4 days, returned it after 12 hours when one of my managers came down with COVID and I had to return home immediately,as 75% of the staff was quarantined. Hotwire refused to give a refund at all. Awful company, avoid at all costs.

Tried to cancel a flight reservation within 24 hours. 5/18/21 Called and waited for over 2.5 hours,no response, except irritating music. During this time I went online to cancel; nothing worked on the site to cancel, though my reservation showed. I worked online for 2 hrs. to make this happen, NOT, the site was not working properly on several fronts. Knowing that my 24hrs. was running out whle waiting was extremely frustrating. Finally did online with airline (Delta) and worked within a few minutes. The fare was nothing special to start with. Do not get caught up with Hotwire.

Giving Hotwire 1 star is being generous. They have been completely incompetent and offer no customer service.We just moved into a new condo. We had the condo wired for TV, sound, WiFi etc. Yesterday our electrician called Hotwire to tell them the fiber optic connection was broken and that we had no telephone or tv service. Hotwire scheduled 2 appointments for 4-6 today. We called again this morning to confirm the we had 2 appointments, one for the fiber optic repair and another for the installation of a defective DVR box. Today we had our electrician and AV specialist here solely for the 4-6 appointments. Everyone showed up except Hotwire fiber optics person.
Hotwire never sent anyone to come to confirm that the fiber was out or fix it, but the technician (Owen) did come to install a box, but there was no fiber optic coming in. He could not do anything about it. What a waste of time, and money. I have to pay the electrician and AV specialist for their time waiting for 2 hours and again when they return.
At least Owen (from Hotwire) got on the phone to get a fiber optic person here tomorrow, but now we have a fiber optic person coming and no one scheduled to install the box or AV person to make sure the systems are working.

I cannot believe the experience that I had with this company! So, I purchased a ticket for my son to Honolulu.I in-advertently mis-typed his email address, so I called Hotwire to fix the problem. The first time I called, I was holding on the phone for over an hour, with no agent and loud music . The next time I called I was on again for over an hour, with no agent and loud music! Then, I called the next day and was on the phone for over two hours before I could speak to an agent to fix the problem. The agent was very nice, but the wait is unbelievable! Even if they just put your phone in queue and called you back, that would be an improvement. I will never purchase anything from Hotwire again!
