In 1960, Jeg Coughlin, Sr. opened JEGS High Performance at 751 East 11th Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Jeg was a racer, and his business was birthed from the struggle that he had finding quality parts for his own hot rods. He quickly became the go-to guy for high performance parts in Central Ohio, and what began as simply building and tweaking engines for his buddies soon because a full-fledged retail business. In 1988, Jeg's four sons, John, Troy, Mike, and Jeg Jr., purchased the business from their father and, after several expansions, what began as a 4,000 sq ft speed shop quickly grew to over 100,000 sq ft. In October 1999, JEGS opened a new 250,000 sq ft. state-of-the-art Corporate Headquarters, Distribution Center and Call Center in Delaware, Ohio while still maintaining the original retail location and a second call center in Columbus. Jeg Sr. wasn't the only racer in the bunch. All four sons developed a love for the sport as have several of their own children. By 2015, the Coughlin Family had brought home 6 NHRA World Championships, 12 Divisional Championships and 107 NHRA national event victories making them one of the most successful families in NHRA history. Their personal involvement in the sport helps make JEGS a leader in the high performance world because many of the parts we sell have been "Track-Tested", which is a vote of confidence for our customers. Our business continues to grow because of our unmatched customer care. Today we operate two call centers, the distribution center, the retail store, and the business also supports a race team (TEAM JEGS). The 350+ employees at JEGS still strongly believe and practice our simple business philosophy: Customer Care is #1.

My first and last experience with jegs was not good. When ordered parts the shipping said a certain day next day the shipping said 3 months.I called they said it would be a week. I waited the week and a day still no shipping. I called again and was told 2 weeks before shipping. I canceled the order and went to carid ordered and got shipping information the same day.

Wow I see a lot of bad reviews here. But my experience with this company has been excellent.I’ve built a ‘86 Monte Carlo SS over the past years with a bunch of Jegs stuff. 4 years back I bought a stage 2 fti tranny. She’s still running strong with about 10,000 miles on the transmission now.

Jegs has a real problem

WE have a real problem! I placed an order for over $2000 on November 24, 2020. Thus far,this order has been screwed up at least three times now by this Melanie LaCount with the last one being within the last couple of days. I have been lied to with regard to delivery dates for my rear wheels and for my aluminum wire looms which were both supposed to be sent out in early December Per the conversation I had with one year service staff; I received a notice from this Melanie on 12/30/20 advising me that my aluminum wire loom delivery date is going to be pushed out until February; I requested that she cancel that particular item on the order as I would get it elsewhere (I have one expected to arrive tomorrow). She responded very shortly thereafter advising that she had canceled the order; I quickly responded asking if this meant that she also canceled my rear wheels and got no response. In looking at my order today, I noticed the rear wheels are not even on the order anymore although the aluminum wire loom is still there. My guess is that she has canceled the rear wheels, not refunded any money, and left the damn wire looms intact. I am well beyond irritated at this point, I have called the bank and I can and likely will reverse the charges and less something is done ASAP. The next person I want to hear from is a supervisor not wanting your line staff. I absolutely DO NOT want this Melanie person to even touch my account anymore. I have tried to be patient understanding all the shipping issues around Christmas and whatnot, but this is gotten well beyond ridiculous. if I do not hear from someone by 5 o'clock tomorrow I will spend the evening making repetitive phone calls and not be willing to spend over an hour on hold and emails until I do get a response. If I still don't get a response I will be making a trip to my bank on Thursday morning. As it stands I have cleared out my entire wish list from your website as you probably lost the customer over this. So much for satisfaction absolutely guaranteed!!! FIX IT

Two Orders, Two Fails

I've ordered twice from Jegs. (Shouldn't it be "Jeg's"?) Order #1 - They charged me the wrong sales tax - more than double what it should be.It is super easy to verify someone's correct tax; all you need is their address. This is the only business I know of that can't get it right. After two phone calls trying to take care of it, in which both individuals told me they couldn't fix it but knew who could, nothing has happened, and it's been more than a week. Order #2 - I ordered a Jegs-brand automatic transmission on November 29th. The order confirmation said the estimated ship date was January 1st. With two days to go (December 29th), they send me a new estimated ship date - April 5th! The 3 people I spoke to about it weren't rude, but neither were they helpful; nobody could explain how in the space of one month the delivery date slipped four months, or why they didn't tell me sooner. Nor did they do anything at all to make it right; "sorry" is all I got. Sorry, indeed. I've done business with their competitor, Summit Racing, for over 30 years, and Summit on their worst day is better than Jegs, based on my two experiences. There won't be a third.

I should have read these first before ordering from them...I bought a set of wheels that I thought were in stock but it kept saying in processing on the order status.I finally called and had to wait 10 minutes to talk to a annoyed sounding CSR. She informed me they were on backorder and didn't know the date to ship. She was going to email the manufacturer and they are supposed to email me. I thought about it, called again and asked to cancel my order. She said she had to email the manufacturer and then they would email and it would take 3 to 5 business days to get money back....just RUN away from this company.
