Do not sign anything with Kareo until you have experienced the software for yourself.Kareo does NOT work well for mental health providers, it is geared for medical. I was told there were customizations for mental health, after trying to set up the software (about 2 hours). I canceled because it was not usable for my mental health nonprofit. I have tried to communicate with them and they are continuing to charge me a $250 onboarding fee even though their services were not provided as described by their salesperson.

This product is horrible. Nobody picks our calls when there are issues I'm stuck without adequate support.They are quick to close stupid support tickets without issues solved. I sound this way because I'm really upset at promises made by sales team and the reality of a terrible operations/support teams. The product is easy to use alright but ridded with bugs of all sorts. It's not prime, kareo lacks experience working in a 24/7 support services setup and they just don't know how to handle existing client issues. I won't recommend this product.

Do not walk...RUN away from this company

I am so incredibly unhappy and sickened by my choice to go into business with this company.I have been trying to resolve issues for weeks but their "Loyalty Department" has a super-secret phone number and you can't actually call them. In the demo call, they kept assuring me that their platform could be easily modified to meet our needs. What they left out was that it would literally take HOURS to make any of it work for us. They also gave me a day to take advantage of "promotional pricing" but didn't mention it was not a promotion but instead based on going with a 120 day contract. I have reached out the original person who got us signed up, but he has not responded to emails. The only person who has been available to help us is the poor success coach who actually doesn't have any of the answers we need and keeps referring us to the magic Loyalty Department which has to contact us because we are not allowed to have their phone number. Because we were not allowed to actually see any of the features of the software prior to purchasing it, we were unable to tell that it would NOT work for us. I knew within the first month, we were in trouble. This is only month two and I am ready to pull my hair out. I am now paying for this company and the one I was trying to switch from. From the response (or lack thereof) I can safely assume that all they care about is our "monthly minimum" and not actually the therapists in my company or the patients we serve. The ethics here are completely shady. I have read through their responses to others and can tell you that getting out of a contract...or even changing the number of providers and services...is going to be a very LONG process as they will hide behind what they have deemed as "reasonable" regardless of whether or not they are actually providing the platform and services they represented to us. They care about their profits...NOT about people. If you have a choice, please look elsewhere for a company that will work WITH you and communicate with you so that your needs are met. At this point, I feel helpless and as though I am being held hostage by the worst company imaginable. If you are researching this company right now, do yourself a favor, and keep researching. If you agree to a demo, do yourself a favor and ask to see the version of the software you will actually get AND not the one they will show you. If you like the demo, do yourself a favor and ask to see the contract and termination clause BEFORE you agree to sign up..as it will actually be the SECOND email you get that contains the terms and conditions and by then it will be too late. If you agree to the pricing, do yourself a favor and read into their line about "promotional pricing" In fact, do yourself a favor and save several headaches and just go with a different company. You can thank me later.

Absolutely horrible service!

If I could give a zero I would. I have a small practice and continue to lose money because of Kareo.Among many issues, the latest is the inability to use PM to bill insurance companies. Fourteen days ago, I spent hours on the phone trying to resolve this issue. After 2 hours with a representative, I was told there was an issue with the Paralell server( program needed for MAC users ) and that the connection would be fixed within 48 hours. It was not! Twelve days later, I received an email stating the issue was fixed. It was not! I contacted Kareo by email to let them know that the issue has not been resolved and I have not heard back. Today, I spent forty minutes waiting for someone from Kareo to answer the phone. After they answered and received my practice information, the call dropped. I have not heard back from them. So... ...I am not able to bill insurance companies because of Kareo's connection issue with Paralell, I am spending hours with customer service and not getting resolution and I am paying for a service that I can not use. Do yourself a favor and find another company...especially if you are using MAC products for Kareo's system.

If there were a way to give them zero, I would. This is my second round with this company.Initially I signed up with them in 2018. They, without my request or permission, took it upon themselves to execute an email blast to ALL of my patients promoting telemedicine, which I did not do at the time. I am in pain management which, before COVID, required in person visits. It was disturbing to patients who quite naturally would have liked the convenience and we spent countless man-hours telling patients who were requesting those appointments that we could not provide them. It was a MAJOR hassle. I left soon thereafter. Now in 2020 I switched from fee-for-service to billing insurance and the biller wanted to use them. Against my better judgement, I agreed. Within a month they were charging my credit card for services I did not request or authorize. When I demanded a refund, they finally acquiesced. They did not refund my card as they should have, but mailed a check to my office where I am now not working from due to COVID. By the time I finally saw the check, two months later, they had charged my card AGAIN for something that was not mine. In the meantime I had disputed the original charge and it had been refunded by the credit card company and this check now almost covered the new charge, although they still owed ME money. Finally, the second charge was reversed so I issued a check to cover the check I had eventually deposited. Now they are threatening to charge my card - because THEY don't accept checks! LOL And when I called to inform them the check was already mailed, I was threatened by an employee who said they were going to charge my card again, with some other charge (that is not mine, but should be going to the biller). Then she hung up on me.These people are rude, unprofessional, and obviously don't know what they are doing. The platform is really not that good, certainly not worth the hassles; and pay very close attention to your charges, especially the small charges that might not catch your attention. You may be paying for things that are not yours or you did not request.

Kareo has not been very professional with me and all them seem to care about is money and not customer service.Kareo just went and terminated my account without my permission after I filed some complaints about multiple issues I had ranging from customer services, lack of transparency related to billing and discounts, and violations of its own terms of agreement. Since they went ahead and terminated my account without my permission, they want to hold me liable for the termination fee all while still avoiding the initial complaints I made. Never heard of a company terminating a contract in good standing by the customer and making them liable for the termination fee. Very shady! I am still in dispute with them, won’t ever use their services.
