When we launched MEGA early 2013, global mass surveillance by rogue governments under the pretext of fighting terrorism was still a wild conjecture and its proponents were often touted as conspiracy theorists. Edward Snowden's revelations 137 days later fundamentally changed public attitudes and it became excruciatingly clear that security by policy ("we have access to your data, but we promise to keep it confidential and not misuse it") had not been good enough. Anything short of security by design ("we cannot gain access to your data without you being able to find out"), for which strong end-to-end encryption is an essential prerequisite, now seems grossly insufficient. MEGA was architected around the simple fact that cryptography, for it to be accepted and used, must not interfere with usability. MEGA is fully accessible without prior software installs and remains the only cloud storage provider with browser-based high-performance end-to-end encryption. The only visible signs of the crypto layer operating under MEGA's hood are the entropy collection during signup, the lack of a password reset feature and the novel (and browser-specific) ways file transfers are conducted. Today, millions of business and personal users rely on MEGA to securely and reliably store and serve petabytes of data and we believe that this success is the result of MEGA's low barrier to entry to a more secure cloud.

For a site that purports to be about transferring files they sure know how to do it slowly, inconveniently,and expensively. Downloading through your browser forces you to watch it in their tab rather than in your downloads page like every other website otherwise you need to use their pointless app. Meanwhile, if you download through your browser page they use a temp folder and download the entire thing there before letting you choose where you want it, just so they can move it afterwards. So if you are downloading a large file and want it somewhere specific you have to clear that space on your C: drive (or wherever your browser is installed) first, then wait for it to write to the disk where you wanted it in the first place. A useless waste of time and effort just so they can have their own custom downloader. Their download speed, free or otherwise, always lags behind even smaller-scale transfer sites. Apparently they also like to let you begin your free downloads and then pause them so you have to pay midway through like some sort of 'first hit's free' drug dealer. I've been waiting well over an hour to download a single 2GB file because it's transferring at 200kb/s. Is that really the best that a file transfer site can do? I don't even think they're limiting that speed, it's just all they can provide.
I'd sooner buy and personally train a messenger pigeon to which I can tie a 64GB flash drive and transfer my data by air than ever subscribe to or willingly use Mega. This service is an abomination upon the face of the internet and by my strength of will and that of my forebears I will not rest until it no longer burdens our species.

Mega.nz Is an amazing cloud storage that provides a generous amount of storage for free and even the paid plans are cheap comparing to the others providers (Google,OneDrive, Dropbox...)
A big positive aspect is that, unlike his competitors, mega encrypts all your uploaded files so you don't have to worry about saving files containing sensitive information, personal information or photos.
The only drawback that I found is that the web interface may look a little "old" or not really user-friendly but you get used to it quickly.
The support is also really reactive and nice.

Ive been using it proudly, until my storage amount has been lowered from 50 to 15GB (I just noticed my amount on the website,it's not 50GB anymore). So I am switching to another solution because the storage amount I got is generally equal, but mega.nz doesn't have outlook support ("add storage")
I mean, it doesn't have advantages to me anymore.

This is the best Cloud Storage ever. The only problem is recovering the Account after you forget your Password.Their Recovery Key is the worst way of getting back into your Account. Maybe sending an OTP could be a better option. I once lost all my media because I didn't have a Recovery Key. Other than that this is fantastic Application.
