Save yourself the headache from having to deal with Penskrooks. I live in Texas and Purchased a truck from Penske in December 2020.I was told the truck was ready in January 2021. Flew to NY to pickup the truck in January. After 1 hour waiting, they said the truck would not start. There was a problem with the transmission control module. Asked to be provided a replacement truck but that was a joke. They wanted to lease me a truck. Cost me well over $ 1000 per day of missed earnings to fly there and back. Got an email from Penske in March saying that the truck was fixed, flew back to NYC in March. When I went there I was told that the truck was not yet fixed. Basically I spent $ 25k in December to buy a truck which I have yet to see as of May 2021, costing me over $ 100000 in potential revenue. Stay as far away as you can from Penske. These crooks should not be allowed to do business, period.

I wouldn't recommend anyone who is a new owner operator looking to purchase they're first truck from penske.Total nightmare. By the time you get your truck. Your first month insurance and truck note will be due before you drive thats how long they take to process everything. It almost seems like they do it on purpose. It's been 2 months now and I have yet to pick up my truck. After I was told 3 weeks I will be in the truck. Biggest mistake I done as a first time buyer.

Beware!!! Landmark Logistics LLC purchased a Premium listed 2015 Freightliner M2 106 Penske box truck about two months ago with 119,000 miles on it.Actual miles on pickup of truck was 124,000. With less than 10,000 miles put on it after purchase the truck stalled on the highway with engine failure. This is less than two months after purchase at $36,000. The truck needs a engine replacement. Tried to contact Penske to no avail. Now stuck making payments for a truck that is out of commission. They must have know about the engine issues with this truck that they chose to not disclose. Very dishonest company.

Absolute Nightmare! Before I decided on a vehicle I was told by Penske, it would be 1 to 2 weeks before the vehicle would be ready.I picked out a vehicle, paid the $500 deposit and then I was handed over to another person. After I called and emailed that person many times over a few days, that person told me the process takes 2 to 3 weeks. I asked why I was originally told 1 to 2 weeks before I put the deposit down and 2 to 3 weeks afterwards. That rep never answered me. The second handler told me I would get weekly updates. At the end of the first week I was not given any updates. Not did I get updates weeks later. I called and emailed several times and NEVER RECEIVED ANY REPLIES. 3 weeks have come and gone nothing from them. I am in my 4th week. And still no date on when my vehicle will be ready. I am new to being an owner-operator, this would be my 1st truck. I decided to go with another company. No, I won't get my deposit back, but every day I don't have my truck costs me more money than the $500 deposit I paid. I would never recommend Penske to a new owner-operator or any driver who wants a vehicle within 2 weeks. What I learned is that the average place can have a vehicle ready within 2 weeks. RUN!!

Horrible company. I’ve bought several used trucks from Ryder and have been very pleased.We bought our first truck from Penske in Nov and pain in full. It was one of their “Proven” trucks with only 150,000 miles. They were supposed to deliver the truck within 30-45 days. WE DIDN’T RECEIVE THE TRUCK UNTIL APRIL!!! It broke down 4 times and is a total piece of garbage. We will never do business with Penske again.

Everything posted about these guys being cooks is true. Especially the warranty Penske sells is trash.You can’t check the truck pretty much at all before you buy it so you have to rely on what they tell you. Your only heads up would be the maintenance records but you can’t even trust that as you read my nightmare. I bought a truck from Penske outlined on the advertisement and the sales paperwork as Premium condition. You can read through what they specify as premium at your leisure. Needless to say I bought the truck on December 26, 2020. I didn’t receive the truck from the preparation process until January 25, 2021. Keep in mind they only give you 60 days before you pay your first payment in 30 days I have to make a payment which gives me little recovery time from the down payment. Anyway, they pull the truck out and OMG. First thing I noticed is that the fuel caps were open on the truck. Second I walked around to found they salvaged the original hood. I know because the lights don’t even match the model. There’s a big hole showing fiberglass in the one I have at that that got painted over as well meaning I have a wrecked hood from another truck. Next the drive tires for the A and B axle were dry rotted to hell. I checked that to find out the tires were 11 years old. They agreed to fix that. Let’s go further. Chassis is rusted bad meaning they never painted as they promised in the premium condition guidelines. I get in the truck... Maggot eggs and are EVERYWHERE! I don’t consider this cleaned to premium condition. I articulated this to corporate 5 times with no response. Ok lets go further. Turn the truck on and it immediately throws a code. I call my guy and he tells me it was a cel sensor issue. This is an electrical. But my position is simple... you had a month to prep the truck for sale why was it not prepped for me to have in premium or working condition? Matter of fact, the PFS for the truck has not even been signed by me. I have a copy of that. There was very little oil in the truck. All the belts were old which I had to make them replace as well. Just to add insult to injury Penske replaced the belt but the mechanic left the bolt out of the alternator. DEF tank bracket was completely rusted and falling off. Etc.,etc.,etc. I’ve been in the shop every week since I’ve bought the truck and have records to reflect. Not to mention losing money on loads I can’t cover because of these issues. Matter fact when I did have to layover, Penske didn’t even pay for the room and it’s their fault I’m broke down. My next step is BBB and then litigation. I’ve tried calling Penske and emailing. Do yourself a favor. When buying a used truck or even renting this trash, DONT! Go to a reputable dealership and definitely do not, under any circumstances, buy from Penske in Dallas. At least 3 other truck sales (I can’t say any names), mechanics guarantee their work. They give a full 90 warranty to bat and give you 90 days before your first payment. The trucks are prepped properly and painted. It’s what I should’ve dove. Lesson learned!

I'm in the process of buying a used truck from Penske and it's so far the worse experience.I was lied to about the truck from the beginning. I was told that the truck had no issues. It took them three weeks to get some me things fixed on the truck. Now I'm looking to purchase the truck and they are stalling. I don't think I'm going to go through with this purchase. I've wasted a month dealing with this company

I bought a used daycab from Penske about 9 months ago. I was told they do an inspection to insure that everything " Meets or exceeds D.O.T.expectations "
I wasn't allowed to look at the truck before hand...BIG MISTAKE on my part! The day I went to pick it up I noticed both steer tires were almost bald...they replaced them but what happened to the inspection they did on it? This truck is the biggest piece of crap I have EVER bought. I have put thousands upon thousands of dollars in this truck and it's down as of this writing. I called Penske to see if I could get them to work with me on getting it fixed...I was told " Sorry...nothing we can do" I called the bank they got me financing through to see if they could defer 1 payment so I could get it fixed...they said they could put the $941 payment off for a few days but that was it. Worst thing I've ever purchased...hands down. They unload there garbage off on dumbasses like me...then they don't care because they got paid for it. I used this truck to be able to support my wife..who has a traumatic brain injury..and who has had 6 strokes and has an inoperable blood clot on the brain. Im broke because of being down so much and will probably lose everything I have. So if you want a great running...dependable truck from someone who stands behind what they sell...stay as far away from these crooks as possible. I get it..its a used truck...but it should last longer than a few months without putting thousands of dollars into it. I paid $6,000 for the "Premier " warranty...it doesn't cover anything that oil doesn't touch. Garbage.
