Mostly great but just a few teething problems because we were not a subscription customer and our install was all new to their process. Overall we have an excellent system installed and now that we have ironed out those kinks of the very poor information received after the install was done, all is good in the hood. I would like to say also that head office have some very good efficient staff who wore the brunt of less than proficient staff. They managed to get us all the information we required and you can ask no more than that.

Poor communication

Poor communication - very difficult to contact Solar Zero for account inquiries and they were slow to respond. Installation and setup went well. The online app is easy to use.

Be Aware

Much of your power bill is made up of Network Charges and this can go up in price. It is your Energy Charges that have a fixed price for the next 25 years so in reality your power bill can and will go up. You pay this on top of the Solar zero bill which for me is $130 monthly and $149.50 monthly. My power bill from ecotricity is $230+ which includes my Network charges of $113+ and my energy charges of $75+. As a result I now pay $350+ for my electricity when I paid less that half that in past. Have another look at your figures making sure you look at Network Charges before signing up.It is not what I expected and I regret joining up as I am now paying way more than before

Dont sign up with Solar Zero

When i started off with solar zero it was good with the fixed price for electricity etc. Wellington is not the best place for solar because of the absence of sunlight during winter! They got me to join their broadband as well. After 4 years I found out that I was paying $30 more than similar broadband providers. Called them to terminate it they tell me termination fee of more than $200 is applicable. Its a total scam, I dont have much savings with solar panels, also the battery and solar panels have all advanced in technology so much. The battery capacity also is not much and can't store enough on a good day. Im stuck with this for 25 years! 🙄

Stay far away from solar zero

Stay far away from solar zero. We have had a panel off line for over a year they cam and replaced a inverter but it would still not come back online. They email saying that it needs to be changed to digital and would need a complete overhall and was not cost effective and would leave it as is becouse they clame its still running at 85%. I told them its not good enougth and will contuine to hold any payment to them intill its 100% online again. Im now going to lay a complant and try to get out of the contract they do not monitor the systems i was the one that found it off line not them. They dont want to fix anything im guessing because they dont have the money. There are a tone of people complaning about the take over and bad service and also laying complants. STAY WELL AWAY

Useless customer service

Useless customer service. Changed internet provider who said they would advise Solar Zero. Thought I'd send an email to confirm and got a reply telling me I would have to give them 30 days notice - even after them being advised by 2degrees. Responded by email- 3 times now - and phoned and left a message with no follow up whatsoever. There's going to be trouble if they charge me for broadband on my next bill!!!

When I signed up the broadband package-02/2023

When I signed up the broadband package, I was initially told there is a $200 termination fee if I canceled early. Prooving to a rude Energy Specialist at customer care with emails as proof, still cannot get him to show me when did I have received this false information of an extortion amount he claims was sent to me. Seems asif they are coming up with made up T&C's.

Waited 3 years for my…

Waited 3 years for my proposal/contract. Got it recently when i told them i want out, on reading through it on page 21 is where SZ and the customer sign to declare that both partys agree to the terms and conditions set out in this, there is a dated and signed portion from Andrew Booth (ceo) and under this there is a dated and signed and named (me) portion. This isnt my signature-nothing like it so, they have committed fraud by forging my signature on a legal document. They deny this vehemently. I have never seen this document before. Dodgy pack of bastards. Little wonder the failed.
