THE MOST COST-EFFECTIVE WAY FORWARD FOR UK ENERGY

I have been a customer of Green Energy UK plc since 2001. I chose the Company because of their genuine green credentials and it does not surprise me to discover that they are now the only Energy Supplier in the UK to provide 100% Green Gas.They have weathered an unimaginable storm over the past 18 months and through careful financial hedging strategies have survived the roughest moments of the volatile international wholesale energy price rises with calm, professional endurance. At their AGM today, 24 January 2023, the CEO emphasised the need for the UK Government to look wholeheartedly at proliferating Renewable Energy Generation on UK Home Soil. Here! Here! He is spot on. Had we not been so dependent on importing our energy over there past 12 years we would not have suffered anything like the wholesale energy price spikes and financial hardship that started in October 2021, was exacerbated by the Ukraine War and has only just started to ease in 2023. To the CEO's remarks I would add: "We need renewable energy generation not only on UK Soil but also with UK ownership. Over 85% of our offshore wind turbines are owned by European and Overseas Investors (Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands etc), so it is utter Conservative political greenwash to bang the drum about the UK leading the world with Offshore wind turbines when the UK doesn't own 85% of them. Why didn't the UK Government make a majority investment in our offshore wind turbines 12 years ago? So, what's the remedy? Answer: We need wind turbines, solar photovoltaic panels, solar thermal panels and battery storage units that are not only on UK soil but also owned by the UK. Where do you think all the profits go from our Offshore Wind Industry? The light shone by Green Electricity and Green Gas has illuminated the most cost effective way forward for our UK energy strategy. I repeat the critical point. The way forward for the UK to is proliferate renewable energy on (1) UK Soil; (2) with UK ownership, to benefit from profits. Only them can we said to have taken back control of our UK Energy Strategy. Mike S.

Very efficient and prompt service…

Very efficient and prompt service following our enquiry/problem. Stuart Rendal was the technician and we thought he was excellent in sorting and explaining what he needed to do in re-connecting our solar panels monitoring App Thank you

I had no problem with Green

I had no problem with Green. Their prices were good. Unfortunately they went bust and since then I haven’t been able to access my historic account which is a major problem because my ofgem appointed supplier Shell Energy is trying to over charge me by using a meter reading from July 2021 which was 2 months before Green ceased trading.

They are not at all honest

They are not at all honest. They keep phoning me and saying my PV (solar) panels should be inspected. They say that they inspected our roof before the panels were installed, and two more follow-up visits were costed into the installation price. I contacted my original installer and they said that was rubbish - they themselves conducted a full survey of the roof etc. Green Energy essentially seem to be lying in order to persuade you to allow them to visit - I imagine they would then find something wrong with the system…

Very poor record keeping

Filled in an on line form once and since then have had many many calls. Requested to be removed from calling list but yet calls persist. Every time I get the call I request to be removed from the calling list - I'd estimate about 10 times now.

No fit for Purpose

I purchased a Greem Jem extendable garden trowel. The first time of use whilst digging a hole for a small plant the blade just bent to nearly 90degrees. I contacted Green Jem by email and complained that the item was not fit for purpose. My reply stated that this trowel is not for digging only use to loosen the soil. Yet whilst looking at their description in states “digging” IMO the trowel is made from a thin plate metal ( not moulded ) so. Really it needs strengthening where it meets the shaft.
