Hertz at Gatwick Airport South Terminal
I've used Hertz Gatwick Airport South Terminal over five times in the last year. Everytime, there was no or very little queuing, the staff were always polite, the car was always ready and in general I had the keys within five minutes of arriving at the office. I usually arrive at night making the damage inspection prior to taking the car problematic, however, they have always provided a complete damage report that was always accurate and said I could phone in the next day if I found anything not covered. On return of the car I have never had a problem. The only minor negatives are that the desk staff try to upsell insurance and fuel options (just say no) and sometimes you have to go and find someone at the front desk when you return the car. So that's why it's a four star for me.
Poor hiring experience and customer…
Poor hiring experience and customer service Hired me a car in Belfast that has maintenance warning alerts on, brakes were worn and grinding and the back cover in the boot was loose and rattling around. The local Hertz folk didn’t care - and ripped me off for excess insurance that I didn’t want/need. No customer service - Hertz is definitely one I won’t use again.
Insurance scam writ large - should be BANNED
Like most people I took out the excess insurance for car hire via the RyanAir booking process. All well and good and underwritten by AXA - a reputable insurance company. That is until you go to pick up your car. If you don't have a credit card you are STUFFED! Debit Card? Forget it. No use, you have to pay some ridiculous fee of £20 a DAY!! Oh how they must enjoy milking that one! NEVER AGAIN!!
This company doesn't return your deposit
This is the worst company ever, the guys at the Gatwick ariport took 200 pounds as deposite and i returned the car and got a receipt saying they will deposit back my money, it has been 3 months and money has not been deposited. I have been emailing them, those shamless employees read my email and I show them the proof and do not respond. The most laziest employees, with absolute no decency and accountability. All of this stems from the management and whole company. Do not do business, you won't get back your money at all.
Avoid at all costs or it will cost you!!
Once you get hold of them, they dont listen. Been charged £90 for a 2 hour rental. It was £140 but i complained that my late return of the van was their fault. I couldnt unlock the van, then it had a fault. I tried to reach them on chat and got ignored. Now they have taken multiple payments from my account (95) and still expect me to pay another 90.40 on top; i was told my rental will be £30. I expected £60 to be charge to my account including the 200% deposit, Maybe £70 with fuel but theyre trying to take £180 altogether. Tried multiple times to speak to someone. Either cant get through on online chat, cant contact them by phone, inly automated saying go to online chat and no response via email. Never again!!
I had a car from them Pco broken and now bunch of bill coming that I have broken it most of it false bills but I have to pay . Wow
It’s a big full of scam bag!
Fraudulent payments being taken
I rented a car from them which was super expensive but I was desperate and they knew that. They then charged me extra for petrol and said it will be refunded but it never was. I have since been charged another 4 times after that with no warning.
Avoid them at any cost .
Avoid them at any cost . Booked a van in Ilford just to find the previous renter in the car park trying to finish his booking with no success , every time he tried to finalise it was giving him a different error. Because he couldn't finish his booking I couldn't start mine. The worst part yet to come , ok , I know sometimes apps have bugs and it is not working as it should BUT you should at least have someone available on the chat lets say in 10-15 minutes , 1 hour is just ridiculous. And not only that they were not available on the chat , if you try to call them be ready to pay for it . Ended up with an extra £10 spent and still couldn't reach them , plus an hour that waited to get the van .... Absolute disgrace of a company.
