I’ve worked for VIPKid since 2015 and LOVE IT!!
I’ve worked for VIPKid since 2015 and have taught almost 10,000 classes. I’ve had an extremely positive experience with this company. Yes, there are drawbacks to almost every job. The hours might not appeal to some, but I work 5:30-10am with an hour break to send my kids to school. I can choose my classes and take off time whenever I want. The parents and children (almost 1000 by now) have been wonderful at least 95% of the time. The pay was amazing when I started, as I earned a couple of raises over time. However in 2020, the company was forced to shift and I make about $300 less per month. Of course, this is unfortunate, but the pay is still great for how easy it is. You just need a reliable computer with WiFi, headset, decent English (with a willingness to improve it) and a flexible personality. This company has consistently been kind and fair. I’m thankful for the time I’ve had with them and plan to continue as long as possible!
They take care of their teachers well
They take care of their teachers well; fair pay; they provide training. Their hiring is a little strange- they don´t value the experience of being a communications trainer- you must have a degree it seems. I have taught here for 4 years. I am happy. It gives freedom. Jess from Canada
I work for VIPKID and love it
I work for VIPKID and love it. I teach Chinese children English online. I work from home, and I work while my kid's sleep. This job allows me to stay at home with my kids and still teach. It's pretty great!
Hello
Hello! So, I really enjoy the process in setting up a profile. However, there are no subject area columns or an option to search your subject area or desired job. It is tedious scrolling through all of those jobs when there are so many!
Cold company
Cold company, they dont care about their teachers anymore. Worked for them 2 years, never received my last contract to sign, tried to communicate with them, they never responded any of my messages, didnt even get a termination letter, a thank you note, nothing. Never knew what happened or if I did something wrong. Very dissapointing
I was a potential teacher looking for a…
I was a potential teacher looking for a job. Even though I have read many, many negative reviews for VIPKID/VIPTEACHER (like the low pay, few bookings), I decided to give them a try. Man were the right! First off, there is no point of contact between you and the company, so if you have any questions at all you are on your own. Essentially, you create a profile then look at the slides that you are going to present to the fake student (i.e. recruiter). Also, bare in mind that these slides come with notes or guidelines to follow. If these notes aren't followed it creates a bit of confusion as to what to do. I have my mock class with a less than enthusiastic recruiter. I use TPR, I am friendly, I repeat some words but not all of them. If they do a great job, I let them know with a thumbs up, or a gold star. Five minutes into the demo, the recruiter finally gives me some feedback that some words could have been repeated. The rest of the lesson was fine though. I was a bit confused because I did follow the lesson notes, and in nowhere there does it state to repeat words or sentences. If that were the case I would have changed my demo. Sometimes I did repeat the words if the student had trouble saying them, but I have learned through other companies like AirReading that they don't like you going off script. This is what is missing with VIPTeacher- Organization-Transperency-making things clear. Anyhow, one business day later, I get the nicest rejection ever: " You are an excellent teacher, but unfortunately, your expertise does not quite match our current business needs. Please note that currently we do not offer a second chance." There is of course no explanation or reason as to why I shouldn't have passed the mock class. This is quite a waste of time. I mean I know did well on the class, so why not pass me? Avoid this company at all costs!!!!

Only U.S. and Canadian citizens can apply. Even native speaker from UK can not be employed. That is unfair!
